VA - Trip in Tyme Vol. 01-Vol.05 [2006-2009] (5xCDs)

The overwhelming majority of these are really good garage tracks, primarily garage rock singles, with a smattering of psych flavored cuts to keep those fans so inclined satisfied as well. One would think that by this late date, and all the hundreds of garage/psych 60's comps that have been released, that most of the good stuff has been uncovered by now. But this one manages to include a lot of relatively seldom seen material that is also quite good.  Originally issued on LP and limited to only 300 copies, it would appear that these CDs is now the only way to go. And it's worth it for the bonus tracks. No liner notes or booklets, though you do get a few label scans inside the fold open cover card, and the track list includes the home state and year of release (if known) for each cut. These compilations will appeal to garage fans looking to fill some holes in their collection.  (RYM)
