MESSAGE RE Google download issues.
A few visitors have advised that when they attempt to download a file link they receive a message that states "This file is dangerous, so Chrome has blocked it"and prevents the download from being attempted unless you chose to ignore the warning.
I am lead to understand that this event is probably due to your Google Chrome set up. Google's recent update caused this issue as it is using its own antivirus. If you follow the instructions identified in the link below, it will fix your issues. I have done this and tested it and it works fine for me.
I hope this helps.

If you don't want to follow this procedure, I also suggest to change your browser.
Cheers.

DeleteAnd good morning to you.

I use Firefox and also have the virus issue at times, I suggest just virus check your download if you are worried :) always comes up clean for me :)
ReplyDeleteThanks for that cannie.
DeleteCheers.
I've had that problem too but you can right-click on the tab with the warning and continue the download. It's unnerving to get a warning message like that so I'd also run a scan before I opened it--no probs. Sounds like it's been remedied tho'...
ReplyDeleteThanks DLA
DeleteLooks like its working again.
Cheers.
I've never encountered that warning here, but I have on other sites. I trust this site, so I'm not concerned. There are other sites that are iffier...so I exercise caution.
ReplyDeleteThanks Tribe.
DeleteCheers.
It's ALL browsers. kraken is the problem as many of the uploads/downloads from many sites do contain malware. Settings can be changed temporarily in all browsers
ReplyDeleteHi Z,
DeleteI don't know enough about how these things happen, but if that is true, then what is the cause?
