This album set was remastered by Capitol Records from the original master tapes for the ultimate sound quality experience. There was only one pressing of this album set issued on vinyl records in 1989. This album set was an extremely Limited Edition. Each album is in a separate jacket. 

Blue Note's 50th Anniversary box set, charts this important jazz label's beginnings, with a top-notch mix of boogie-woogie, combo swing, and some prime hard bop listening. Then spotlights the funk (more likely called R&B or soul at the time) and blues elements that went into making hard bop a separate entity from bebop. Horace Silver, with his pumping piano chords and dance-friendly grooves, can be credited with helping to spawn the music. From there, the grease steadily heats up, as classic hard-boppin' boogaloo is cooked up. (Amazon)
