VA - READERS POLL #03
VA - READERS POLL #03, VA - 100 Greatest Closing Tracks (A Butterboy Compilation) (5 x CDs)
Firstly, let me thank all who have provided their submissions for the Great Closing Track Readers Poll. The task was made a little harder as I requested that you did not duplicate the first 3 volumes I has posted previously. What we have ended up with is a new set of 100 tracks that meet that challenge and are frankly all wonderful choices.
The tracks that you have chosen have already given me many hours of listening pleasure. I am sure you will enjoy them too. As expected, the diversity of genres and musical styles have been a real challenge to piece together for this compilation. The 60's, 70's, 80's, 90's and 2000's are all represented. Many hours were spent listening to and reshuffling the track order which was not only a labour of love but also a delight to reacquaint with some forgotten songs.
Here are your choices for the Readers Poll Great Closing track CDs. A Total Hours of 10:57:45 over 5 CDs. Short and long songs spread over multiple genres. As I like, an eclectic mix indeed. Each track has the contributor referenced in the comments section. Thanks again for all your support and wonderful selections.
Thank you all again for your participation and great choices.
Enjoy!

ReplyDeleteThanks contributors and especially the compiler, BB!
A Cadence of Coolly Climatic Closing Compositions!
Diverse and by definition Great. I'm closing with that!
Thanks, mrRadio.
DeleteGreat closer.
Cheers.
Great effort......nice to see the stats.
ReplyDeleteI was amazed at how many recent - 2000's tracks made the cut!
The 70's won out in the nominations which is no surprise as soooooooooooooo much happened in this decade!
Thanks for this
Cheers
Stephen
Fantastic set of tunes going straight on all the way through Thanks for all your hard work putting this together Cheers Jim
ReplyDeleteEnjoy them all, Jimbo100.

DeleteAppreciated.

Thanks for this my friend, Your followers have incredible tastes in music and your talent for sequencing is once again spot on.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Deadmandeadman.
DeleteIt's a pleasure to work with such great choices.
Cheers.
This is a fantastic set that will be put into heavy rotation right away. Compilations like this are why I love blogs - you'd never be able to license all of these tracks for a "legit" (money making) release. The only mistake that jumps out at me is "Born On The Bayou" by Creedence Clearwater Revival is the opening track of their second album.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Rock 'n' Roll Steve.
DeleteThat is totally my mistake. The track actually asked for was "Keep on Chooglin".
When went to the album I have invertedly grabbed this track, Oop's on my part and now totally embarrassed. Glad you raised it. I should get that fixed.
Cheers.
Correction made. New tracked added. Thanks for highlighting that.
DeleteCheers.
You're welcome, sir. Again, this is a pile of great tunes.
DeleteThanks for including my choices on this BB! Thought I was pushing my luck with a 24 min track! Hope you do some more polls in the future, there's plenty here I don't know. Looking forward to ploughing through it.
ReplyDeleteHi Smuj.
DeleteAll tracks short or long are welcome. Enjoy listening to what is new to you.
Cheers.
Hi Paul.
ReplyDeleteThank you for that very generous comment. I like that the diversity of music is enjoyed by many.
Cheers.
Getting a kick listening to this set during lunchtime while I'm serving on jury duty, You've done a great job sequencing all these tracks together. WHICH REMINDS ME....... whoever picked The Alan Parsons Project's "To One In Paradise", Good call! I can kick myself for not thinking or remembering that classic gem -- fits perfectly with Klaatu's "Hope". Thanks for the great set BB!
ReplyDeleteThank you, WB.
DeleteThat is a great compliment.
JW picked that one, he has great taste. I thought it would group nicely with Klaatu's "Hope". Seems I made the right choice.
Cheers.
