They shape our thoughts and lives; they move our hearts, and they give us gifts that stay with us until we ourselves pass. I for one am eternally grateful for their legacy. Their contributions are carved into my heart.
Musicians are emotional people who live in a fraternity of gifted people. When one of their own dies they are understandably heartbroken by their loss and by knowing the legacy left behind. When another artist writes a song about these lost comrades, they generally produce something special.
