Though the Canadian rock scene doesn't get as much praise as that in the U.S. and UK artists, Canadian rock artists are some of the most popular in the world.  There are 1960's icons and Canadian legends like Young, Joni Mitchell and Leonard Cohen and the indie scene is massive and continues to excite with bands like Arcade Fire and many others. What separates Canadian rock from others is how it has shaped various sub-genres of rock that includes progressive rock, pop, country, punk, heavy metal and indie rock.
