Every now and then the beginning of a song makes the whole track, or at least prepares us for what is to come. Intros that don't just encourage but require you to keep listening. Without a good intro we would probably just turn the song off all together.  The songwriter tries to build expectation and lead us into something great. Sometimes they just have a hook so barbed that even if you stopped the track the hook would remain in your head days later.

Some song intros take their time and slowly pull you in. Others simply grab your attention and slap you with a sound that says, wake up here I am.  This set of 150 songs is a mixture of both. I hope you can agree these tracks are great because of their classic intros.
