  1. Kind of musical journey into a large new wave. Interesting because it is both commercial and sometimes rare. Thank you BB.

    1. Hi Herve,
It certainly isn't the average 80 compilation. It is very interesting to me.
      Cheers.

  2. KROQ (K Rock) was a great station around that time. Besides Blade, you had Rodney on the Roq (Rodney Bingenheimer?) who also had some great compilations. In fact, the whole station was quite good. And unlike anything else in that market. There was a copycat kind of station in the Bay Area: The Quake, but just not as good. And of course College Radio at the time had several good stations. In the Bay Area it was KSJS: The Rhythm Wave and KFJC who led the way with punk and new wave.

    1. Hi Pol.
Absolutely, KROQ was a legendary station during that era! Richard Blade and Rodney Bingenheimer were iconic figures who brought a lot of unique and groundbreaking music to the airwaves. "Rodney on the Roq" was known for his eclectic taste and for championing new and upcoming bands. His show was a crucial platform for punk, new wave, and alternative rock music. The Quake in the Bay Area tried to emulate that vibe but never quite captured the same magic. College radio stations like KSJS and KFJC were also pivotal in promoting punk and new wave music. They provided a platform for alternative and underground music that mainstream stations often overlooked. It was an exciting time for music discovery and innovation!
      Cheers.
