Thanks, BB! I really love your 1966 In The Charts series. It's fascinating to see The Beatles and someone like Al Martino in the charts at the same time.
ReplyDeleteI'm hoping that you do this series for the entire 1960's. Did you do already do any In The Charts volumes for 1964 or 1965?
Thanks again!
Thanks omac,
DeleteIf you ask people about the 1966 years hits you will get the famous ones. I have tried to show who occupied the charts along with the greatest hits. Glad you are enjoying it. I have only done 1961 and 1966. I plan to do 1971 next and then 1976. No plans for 1964 & 1965 at this stage.
Cheers.
I'm back on the carpet at home playing with my toys... the exciting radio sounds constantly filling the room.....
ReplyDeleteCheers
Stephen
Hi Stephen,
DeleteThis series is a great reminder of that time.
I have another radio set planned for this week also.
Cheers.
I was 15 and 2 months old. I know the English tunes like the back of my hand. They are all great. Sorry to hear your are not planning on the rest of the sixties (I have 1961) it would have been fun. But I will keep my fingers crossed.
ReplyDeleteHi lemonflag.
DeleteThe memories of these songs are wonderful reminders. I may do other 60's compilations in the future but first I have 2 x 70's to complete.
Cheers.
BB thanks 65-69 was my favorite years for top 40 hits, listen to them in the bean fields and hay fields in the summer and bought a lot of 45's in that time period
ReplyDeleteHi doors97426.
DeleteThis is weied I'm listening to the doors at the moment, enjoying the track "Shaman's Blues", a great non single album track. It was a great period in rock music.
Happy to hear I have struck a chord with 1966.
Cheers.
My head was in this Music between my 14 and 17 years with all these 45 R.P.M. records.
ReplyDeleteGreat period, very creative, which will really influence what will follow.
Many Thanks BB
Hi Patrick.

Hi Paul,
DeleteHappy to hear you are enjoying this series.
Cheers.
Thanks for this interesting addition. For me, 1966 and 67 were probably the best music years ever. So much variety and I love garage music in it's many varieties. Fun stuff. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteHi hotrodmike,
DeleteYou are right about the variety of music. When I was looking back to compiling these sets I was amazed at the breadth of music that was being created. It is fun and also very interesting.
Cheers.
Thank you!
