Consecration: The Final Recordings Part 2 is an 8-CD box set live album by jazz pianist Bill Evans with Marc Johnson and Joe LaBarbera recorded during a nine-night residency at Keystone Korner in San Francisco in 1980 and released on the Milestone label in 2002. Additional recordings from this concert series were released as The Last Waltz: The Final Recordings in 2000.

I've been on a Bill Evans kick recently and have a lot of his music. I've just started listening to "Consecration," but even after only the first disc, I can state definitively that these performances are among his best. Bill seems to be reinvigorated by his new trio of Marc Johnson and Joe LaBarbera, and he sounds terrific. Considering that he passed away only about a week after this gig and was in very poor health, it is truly amazing that he had the physical and creative strength to play. And, what playing it is ... perfectly executed technical runs, delicate passages, incredible percussive effects, and unsurpassed dynamic control. I look forward to listening to the rest of this set as well as the "Last Waltz" discs which represent the second sets from this gig. BTW, sound quality is excellent all around. Bill's music is a joy to listen to. (Amazon)
