Learned that lesson some years ago. Crashed, tried to fix, still NG, took to a pro. Luckily he was able to backup my HD files but the rest of the PC was toast. Bought a new HP desktop PC and 2 Western Digital 14TB portable hard drives. Hope you can recover BB.
Butterboy, You have my sympathy. I suffered a recent near miss on my main machine (thankfully a reboot in safe mode luckily resolved it for me). If you find you are missing music archives as a result of this problem just produce a list when you're ready and I'm sure between myself and other regular visitors we can recover most of any lost music for you.
