VA - Easy Listening Soundtrack (A Butterboy Compilation) CD1 + CD2

EASY LISTENING  SOUNDTRACK

 VA - Easy Listening Soundtrack (A Butterboy Compilation) CD1 + CD2

The music found in Film (soundtracks) cast a wide net encompassing classic orchestral scores, pop jukebox compilations, spoken word and sonic effects. The right movie soundtrack substantially amplifies the experience of watching a film. In isolation, a soundtrack can provide a conduit to exciting new musical discoveries. Soundtracks can stand alone as magnificent pieces of art and at their best make the art they accompany just that little bit better.

When you think of a movie, what is one of the main things that makes that movie memorable? It could be the acting, the directors skill, the editing or the cinematography. I would suggest that one of the main ingredients that makes a movie great is the music.

This compilation centers around the Easy Listening soundtrack music that, for me, is soothing and relaxing to the listener. Most tracks are orchestral easy listening in nature (With a little drama thrown in...). There are a few tracks with vocals and where present will be by the original singer from that given movie and because it is used in the opening credits or as the main theme song for that movie.

Movies released during the decades 1950's and 2000's have been included here. All tracks here are from the original soundtrack recordings. I have avoided musicals, band movies, concert films and rock compilation soundtracks focusing solely on easy listening sounds found within popular music in film. The track list is presented by date of movie soundtrack.

Here are 50 really great film soundtracks pieces that live on in my heart and memory strongest. Take a musical journey through some of the greatest film scores. Enjoy!

  2. IMHO The greatest piece of film music of the last 25 years, that evokes the most raw emotion (in me at least) is James Horner's - The Perfect Storm (track 01 Coming Home From The Sea about sez it all)

I put a lot of time into this one. i feel its a great compilation worth attention. Glad its stile alive after a year and a half on the site. James Horner - My Heart Will Go On is also a wonderful piece. Maybe the next volumes will include James Horner's - Coming Home From The Sea.
