Uilleann pipes are a type of Irish bagpipe powered by bellows, producing a sweeter, more complex sound than the mouth-blown Scottish Highland bagpipes. They feature multiple drones and regulators for chords, allowing for a wider musical range. This distinction makes them central to Irish music, unlike the Highland pipes' ceremonial and march-focused use.

Blue Öyster Cult is an American heavy metal band, originally from New York, who hit it big in their early days with a trilogy recognized as one of the most accomplished in rock history:

Blue Öyster Cult (1972), Tyranny And Mutation (1973) and Secret Treaties (1974).

Occultism, science fiction, fantasy, secret societies and parallel universes: the band, influenced by the writings of Richard Meltzer, the production of Sandy Pearlman/Murray Krugman, and a record company (Columbia) keen to find a response to the English Black Sabbath, will produce here racy, intuitive, intelligent and perfectly arranged albums. A model of its kind.   In addition to a selection from three essential records (and pre-BÖC tracks too), I also added a few «occult» songs produced around this period from other artists. This makes five compilations in total. Happy listening.

  1. MY COMPILATION SERIES

Where visitors provide their self-made compilation

#9 Anything Goes: The Cole Porter Instrumentals Created By Doc "MF" Johnson

This is not a self-made compilation created by Doc "MF" Johnson. This is a complete album, issued on Verve Records 314517 168-2 in 1992

    Here's a link to https://www.discogs.com/release/519821-Cole-Porter-Anything-Goes-The-Cole-Porter-Songbook-Instrumentals

All Doc has done is repost the tracks from a complete album, in the original track order, copy and paste the sessions personnel, and claim he's "created" a compilation.

  2. Dear retiree, what is the problem?
I have made many compilations for BB and I am still waiting for some comments. By the way, I don't see your contributions. And besides, if anyone should complain it's ButterBoy. I've had a hard week and I haven't felt like creating anything (it would have been very easy; take 4 topics from each compilation, you don't have to be Einstein). If I break rules or it doesn't seem right to you, delete it. Have a happy day
By the way, i hate the net police

    1. Sorry Doc you can't BS your way out of this. You've been caught out, passing off a released album as your own self made compilation. You have removed the tags and embedded art and then deliberately attempted to deceive everyone that you have compiled this compilation. You know damn well the My Compilation Series is just that, home made compilations. You should hang your head in shame.

    2. Hi Bob, as much as I can understand you noticing a little cheating - but honestly, who really cares? Good for you for noticing that the compilation is nothing more than an existing album, but wouldn't it have been enough to tell the other visitors to the site? Doc MF Johnson has contributed a lot to the success of this fine institution for a long time - doesn't he deserve a little leniency? In any case, I think most people, including here, are very quick to criticize. A simple thank you would go so much further. So thanks to Doc MF Johnson for all his work in the past. And thanks to you, Bob, for being thoughtful enough to point out an error. But definitely no thanks for being so hard on people. That's just not your place.

  3. @Ingolf
I wonder how you would like it someone else helped themselves to your offerings and took credit for them on some other blog? Would you be thankful that they did it, taking praise and thanks that should be yours and would you just shrug your shoulders and say 'who cares'?

Bob, is one of the most conscientious posters in thanking other bloggers for their offerings I know. His comments can be seen on numerous blogs. He also runs his own blog as it goes and has provided us mere mortals with literally hundreds of home made compilations so perhaps you might understand why Bob, in the face of such a disingenuous and dismissive response, might have called it as it really is.

Perhaps if 'Johnson' had shown a little humility about it further comment may not not have been necessary. He didn't and nobody really likes a 'cheat' (your word not mine) do they?

    1. Hi Manny, how nice that a discussion is taking place here. It's always better when things are said. I can actually relate to a lot of what you write. But interestingly enough, it has happened to me several times that my posts, some of which I was quite proud of, have been copied by others and made available on other blogs. I had to smile a little when you wrote that: Would you be grateful that they did, and take the praise and credit that should be yours? Well, as far as praise and thanks are concerned, I've long since given up on that idea. Especially here on the Butterboy Blog I notice that the compilations are very popular (mine are downloaded between 300 and 500 times), but that hardly anyone - except lemonflag - leaves a little thank you. Nevertheless, I continue. Some of the compilations I make require a lot of research, some take more than 10 hours, but I'm happy to do it. Because I know that a lot of people like them. To get back to the point: I just want to say that I've learned something in life: Pressure breeds counter-pressure. And I don't think we need either.

  4. Hi folks,
I just wanted to say how much I enjoy everyone's contributions. I look forward to seeing what others have put together. (I wasn't able to comment for a quite a while - my anti-tracking software was blocking my logging into Google and I was lazy about looking up permissions.)
