EASY LISTENING

VA - Timeless Tunes For A Modern World, Obscure Easy Listening (A Butterboy Compilation) (4 x CDs)

Easy listening music, often characterized by its mellow and soothing melodies, has been a staple of background music for decades. However, within this genre lies a treasure trove of obscure tracks that have largely gone unnoticed by the mainstream audience. These hidden gems offer a unique glimpse into the diverse and rich history of easy listening music.

Obscure easy listening music often features lesser-known artists and compositions that didn’t achieve commercial success but still possess a timeless charm. These tracks are typically characterized by lush orchestral arrangements, smooth vocals, and a relaxed tempo, making them perfect for unwinding and relaxation. The beauty of these obscure tracks lies in their ability to transport listeners to a different era, evoking a sense of nostalgia and tranquility.

One of the reasons why these tracks remain obscure is the sheer volume of music produced during the peak of the easy listening era, particularly in the 1950s and 1960s. Many talented artists and composers created beautiful music that, for various reasons, didn’t receive the recognition it deserved. As a result, these tracks have become hidden gems, waiting to be discovered by discerning listeners.

In recent years, there has been a resurgence of interest in obscure easy listening music, thanks in part to the efforts of dedicated collectors and enthusiasts. These individuals have painstakingly unearthed rare recordings, often from vinyl records and tapes, and shared them with a wider audience through digital platforms. This renewed interest has allowed a new generation of listeners to appreciate the artistry and craftsmanship of these forgotten tracks.

Exploring obscure easy listening music is like embarking on a musical treasure hunt. Each discovery offers a new perspective on the genre and a deeper appreciation for the artists who contributed to its rich tapestry. Whether you’re a long-time fan or a newcomer to easy listening music, delving into its obscure tracks is a rewarding and enriching experience.

Discover 100 tracks from both renowned and lesser-known artists that, for various reasons, haven’t received the attention they deserve. This compilation spans a diverse range of styles, offering something for every listener. Enjoy the journey through these hidden gems! (B)

  2. So much Rock, R&B, and other music to fill our day, it's refreshing to take some time to sit back with maybe a nice book on art and a refreshing beverage, and with these soothing sounds playing in the background. It's a whole different level of gratification and one that - I at least - don't enjoy often enough. Thanks for sharing!
