 This compilation presents the 22 Artists/Bands that participated into European Blues Challenge (organized by the European Blues Union) in Split, Croatia on 3,4 &5 of April.

The meaning of "blues" is different today, I would prefer to call it modern or advanced blues, but the bottom line is, that the new generations from all over Europe still keep on embracing and playing the blues as they feel it.   Being a member of the jury this year I can say for sure that the European Blues Challenge is more about getting people together and not about competition.

The first 11 bands listed in this compilation appeared on the 3rd and the rest 11on the 4th of April.       The 8 finalists were Finland, Greece, United Kingdom, Austria, Poland, Hungary, Suisse and Germany.   The winner of the competition was Alice Armstrong Band from United Kingdom and the winner in solo acts was Jantso Jokelin from Finland.

"There are two big band genres [...]; Big Band and Progressive Big Band. Although the term "progressive" might imply that the latter genre is more demanding and complex than the former, this is not always the case. Instead, Progressive Big Band is a term developed in the 1950s to refer to big band music that was not meant for dancing and entertainment but instead was meant for listening to in a manner more similar to concert hall music. 

Other than that, the term "progressive" does not imply any sort of definable musical superiority.....Music found in the Progressive Big Band genre may have ambitions similar to lengthy concert hall pieces, and may also feature elements of the avant-garde and other modern tendencies."

Only Various Artists compilations will be accepted.

Only one compilation per week from each contributor with a limit of 25 tracks per track list per submission. (Total 25 tracks only). You can submit a new track list the following week.

The Topic is your choice, Genre is your choice and any music is acceptable. (If readers don't like the topic or choices then they don't have to pick them up)

 When presenting your submission, the Topic of your compilation should be Noted as well as the sound quality of the compilation. (i.e., 320Kbps MP3, Flac, etc).

Whilst most would prefer MP3's @ 320 kbps all I request is a good sound quality. 

A track list must be supplied together with a LINK for your Compilation.  (Please do not send the compressed file)

Artwork is not necessary but would be welcomed. All submissions need to arrive via email to:

Entries must be received by Midnight, Wednesday. (Wherever you are in the world.)

Once received, your entries will be checked for content matching the track lists provided. If an entry is considered unsafe or different to the track list provided it will be deleted. If your submissions are outside the guidelines they will not be included (No questions asked and no reply)
