The Beach Boys is a 3CD set that dives into the early roots, side projects, and sunshine pop legacy surrounding America’s iconic surf band. CD1 focuses on pre-fame and rare Beach Boys recordings, including early singles like “Surfin’ Safari,” “Luau,” and “Surfer Girl.” You’ll also find tracks by Kenny & The Cadets, a short-lived side project featuring Brian Wilson, Carl Wilson, and Al Jardine, plus cuts from Bruce & Jerry (Bruce Johnston’s early duo). Even “Kokomo” makes an appearance—though here it’s credited to Eternal Trip, a studio group.

CD2 shifts to Surf City Allstars, a band featuring Al Jardine and David Marks, revisiting Beach Boys classics like “California Girls,” “God Only Knows,” and “Help Me Rhonda.” These are re-recordings, not original Beach Boys masters, but they’re performed by key alumni with care and polish.

CD3 expands the view to the broader sunshine pop and psych-adjacent scene, with tracks by Chad & Jeremy, Grapefruit, The Mirage, Mortimer, and Paper Bubble. These selections echo the Beach Boys’ melodic sensibilities and studio sophistication, offering a snapshot of the era’s harmonic richness.
