Jackson Browne - Golden Slumbers Volumes 1 - 5 [1998] (6 x CD's)

JACKSON BROWN

Jackson Browne - Golden Slumbers Volumes 1 - 5  [1998] (6 x CD's)

Soundboard (and FM Broadcast) recordings, Excellent quality

Jackson Browne, the complete Golden Slumbers fan compilation, which is an excellent rarities and live recordings compilation.
This is a great set that brings together many bits & pieces, duets, live performances, radio sessions, one-of-a-kind moments, and miscellaneous rarities from throughout Jackson's career, including many one-off performances from various charity and benefit shows and rare backing vocal stints with others. It also includes a couple full-length live shows. But the main thing that makes this set so great is the superb sound quality of the bulk of the recordings. This is just an excellent sounding collection. Enjoy!

  1. Thank you for sharing this wide-ranging, lovingly assembled compilation, Butter. Like Tom Petty, Bruce Springsteen, and some others, Jackson Browne's one of the artists whose voice and works have been an ongoing soundtrack through many of our life's decades.

E.g., in 1986, my cassette of his "Lives in the Balance" was part of the rich backdrop to an intense relationship that would soon burn my heart to ashes, leaving little more than dizzying memories and a long-lasting wound. Over the years - decades, somehow - since that summer, I've replaced most of my cassettes with their CDs and/or MP3 versions... but I just now found that "Lives" isn't one of them, where it ought to be alongside "Holdout" and "Pretender". Would you be able to pop that one into The Crate, at some point?

And... an interesting track that didn't make this compilation is "Voice of America", the flipside of JB's "Lives in the Balance" single. Would that also be in your deep vault?

Even if not, in either case, thank you as always for your generous shares, both of your own diligent work, and of others' - music and artwork alike. Enjoy the weekend!

    1. He is a wonderful artist and songwriter, collaborator and musician. There are JB (not to be confused with the other fellow) in the CRATE tomorrow. That's also the Rumer.
      Enjoy your weekend too.

      Cheers

  2. Thanks - this should be a great listen.
I've been wishin' & hopin' that somebody would post upgrades of Jackson Browne's early albums on TZ. I unfortunately ripped my vinyl at a low bit rate before getting rid of LPs many years ago...

    Cheers,
    Mike
