A great introduction to the genre. The first time I ever heard Trouble Man was a huge thanks to this cd. There are a lot of compilations out there with these songs, and the original soundtracks are readily available, but again a cool old school introduction to some seriously funky, soulful tunes. I forgot to mention, Ice-T and his manager Jorge Hinojosa compiled and put it together.

This is a compilation album featuring songs from '70s blaxploitation movies. It feature ten funky songs from such cinematic "masterpieces" as Trouble Man, The Mack and Foxy Brown. The songs are performed by soul legends like The Impressions, The Four Tops, Marvin Gaye, Issac Hayes and Curtis Mayfield. (There are also two songs by the obscure Willie Hutch.) This is a fun compilation, and fans of 70's soul should dig it.

These 10 classic songs capture the sound and the heart of the 70's. There has never been or will there ever be a sound so alive quite like Classic Soul Music from the 70's. (Amazon)
