VA - Cherry Red 7T's Glam Rock Singles Selection Box [2024] (10 x CDs)

Hello - Complete Singles Collection (Official CD Rip) (2CD) (2021)

Hello are an English glam rock band. They originally recorded for the Bell Records label.

The band's biggest success came in the UK and Germany in the mid-1970s, when their top 10 hits in the UK Singles Chart were "Tell Him" and "New York Groove".

This 40-track double CD features every A and B side issued by Glam Rock legends Hello. The detailed booklet contains sleeve notes by 70's expert Phil Hendricks with input by original front man Bob Bradbury. As a bonus rare 45s by drummer Jeff Allen (both solo and as Local Boy Makes Good) are added. The booklet contains illustrations of collector's item picture sleeves from around the globe.

Mud - The Singles 1973-80 (Official CD Rip) (3CD) (2023)

Mud are an English glam rock band, formed in February 1966. Their earlier success came in a pop and then glam rock style, while later hits were influenced by 1950s rock and roll and rockabilly, and they are best remembered for their hit singles "Dyna-mite", "Tiger Feet", which was the UK's best-selling single of 1974, and "Lonely This Christmas" which reached the Christmas number 1 in December 1974. After signing to RAK Records and teaming up with songwriters/producers Nicky Chinn and Mike Chapman, the band had fourteen UK Top 20 hits between 1973 and 1976, including three number ones.

This 3CD set covers all of the singles released by 70s pop legends Mud between 1973 and 1980. Includes three UK Chart toppers - 'Tiger Feet', 'Lonely This Christmas' and 'Oh! Boy'. Also features their 12 other UK Top 40 hit singles plus the sole solo Top 30 hit by vocalist Les Gray. Presented in a chronological A/B release order the set includes ten tracks making their debut on CD including the ultra rare 45 issued as Ring plus the three Les Gray singles. The booklet contains detailed liner notes plus loads of picture sleeves and memorabilia from the era.

The Glitter Band - Complete Singles Collection (Official CD Rip) (3CD) (2021)

The Glitter Band are a glam rock band from England, who initially worked as Gary Glitter's backing band under that name from 1973, when they then began releasing records of their own. They were unofficially known as the Glittermen on the first four hit singles by Gary Glitter from 1972 to 1973.

The Glitter Band had seven UK Top 20 hit singles in the mid-1970s, and three hit albums.

3CD 57 track release that features every A and B side issued by Glam Rock legends The Glitter Band. National Chart hits include 'Angel Face' (UK No. 8, Germany No. 8, Australia No. 2), 'Just for You' (UK No. 10, Germany No. 35), 'Let's Get Together Again' (UK No. 8, Germany No. 19), 'Goodbye My Love' (UK No. 2, Germany No. 32), 'The Tears I Cried' (UK No. 8, Germany No. 35, Australia No. 5), 'Love in the Sun' (UK No. 15) and 'People Like You and People Like Me' (UK No. 5, Germany No. 14). Of particular interest to collectors will be the inclusion of rare 45's like 'Until the Next Time', 'Heartbeat to Heartache' and 'Nothing at All' plus the previously non CD 1989 re-workings of band anthem 'Angel Face'.. Seven rare studio tracks from the 1980's have been added as a bonus as is the inclusion of the band's one and only 'In Concert' release, the 1985 "Live at the Marquee" album. The booklet contains detailed liner notes for each release by 70s expert Phil Hendricks with input from original members Pete Phipps and John Springate and is fully illustrated throughout with numerous picture sleeves from around the globe.

Wizzard - The Singles Collection (Official CD Rip) (2CD) (2023)

Wizzard were an English rock band formed by Roy Wood, former member of the Move and co-founder of the Electric Light Orchestra. The Guinness Book of 500 Number One Hits states, "Wizzard was Roy Wood just as much as Wings was Paul McCartney." They are most famous for their 1973 Christmas single "I Wish It Could Be Christmas Everyday".

The band made their live debut at The London Rock and Roll Show at Wembley Stadium on 5 August 1972. Wizzard's second appearance was at the Reading Festival later that month. With Wood's distinctive warpaint make-up and colourful costume, not to mention regular appearances on BBC Television's Top of the Pops in which members and friends, including Wood's girlfriend, singer Ayshea Brough, variously appeared in pantomime horses, gorilla costumes or as roller-skating angels, often wielding custard pies for good measure, Wizzard were one of the most picturesque groups of the British glam rock era. In 1973 they scored their first Top 10 hit with "Ball Park Incident", which made No. 6 for three weeks from 13 January. Their biggest hit was with their second single. "See My Baby Jive", Wood's faithful and affectionate tribute to the Phil Spector-generated 'Wall of Sound', made No. 1 in the UK Singles Chart for four weeks. It sold over one million copies globally, and was awarded gold disc status. The follow-up, "Angel Fingers", also topped the charts for one week. Wizzard's songs often included lengthy instrumental improvisations.

The band's 1973 Christmas single "I Wish It Could Be Christmas Everyday" became an annual fixture on British (and Irish) radio and television. It was reissued in 1981, and a 12" re-recording appeared in 1984.

During 1973 Harvest Records released the Roy Wood solo album Boulders, which he had recorded and mixed years before forming Wizzard, and which produced a Top 20 hit in "Dear Elaine". Wood said he was bored with Boulders by the time of its release and he wanted to focus on his new music with Wizzard. The subsequent heavy working schedule and strain led to health problems, and several cancelled or postponed live dates on a spring 1974 tour of the UK. One highlight of 1974 was a return to the Top 10 with "Rock 'n' Roll Winter (Loony's Tune)". Release was delayed for several weeks until the end of March, so the words "Sorry, the word 'Spring' wouldn't fit" were added on the label after the title. Unusually for the time, this song and the B-side, "Dream of Unwin", were both recorded and released in mono. The song was dedicated to Wood's girlfriend at the time, Lynsey de Paul, who repaid the honour by recording a Wizzard-style song, "Ooh I Do", a few months later.

This 2CD collection features the A and B sides of all Wizzard's singles. The UK No. 1's 'See My Baby Jive' and 'Angel Fingers' are both included as is the perennial winter season classic 'I Wish It Could Be Christmas Everyday' which reached No. 4 in 1973. The Top 40 UK hits 'Ball Park Incident' (No. 6), 'Rock 'n' Roll Winter (Loony's Tune)' (No. 6), 'This Is the Story of My Love' (No. 34) and 'Are You Ready to Rock' (No. 8) are all also included. This collection also features the non charting but collectable 'Rattlesnake Roll', 'Indiana Rainbow', 'The Stroll' and 'Dancin' at the Rainbow's End' singles. Booklet contains detailed liner notes by Phil Hendricks alongside repros of numerous European picture sleeves, sheet music, etc.

Both the Wizzard and Mud sets are my own personal CD rips from the original box sets as I’ve not seen them appear online anywhere.

As these two sets that have not appeared online up to this point they are a BB exclusive!

Enjoy!
