Thanks BB - always loved "The man with the golden arm" something about it every time I hear it.
ReplyDeleteHi Dr Robert.
DeleteThese are extremely enjoyable and away from what is normally listed to. Enjoy!
Cheers.
Thank you very much BB for all these compilations. Note that Crime Jazz and Pop Fiction were produced by Warren Kolodny, who unfortunately died around the time these compilations were released, in 1996. He produced extraordinary work and would undoubtedly continue on this path. He was only 30 years old.
ReplyDeleteHi Herve,
DeleteThank you for sharing that information about Warren Kolodny. It's clear he had a remarkable talent that would have continued to shine. His legacy lives on through these compilations, and we can all appreciate the incredible contributions he made to the world of music.
Cheers.
Gracias BB por estos buenísimos compilados, amo las buenas novelas negras, son manuales de psicología.
ReplyDeleteHi Mirta.
DeleteI am glad to hear these spark interest for you.
Cheers.
Stupendous series of Film Noir and Crime posts. Not only do I love this genre of film (some of which are masterpieces), but now I get to listen to these marvelous soundtracks many of which I've never heard of. . Cuts like "Son of Raunchy" and "Contract With Depravity" are funny by their titles alone. "Floozie" by Alex North defines the moodiness, grit and darkness, just great. Chico Hamilton's Sweet Smell of Success had Chico and Fred Katz appearing in the film playing this I believe. Thanks BB these are above and beyond appreciated.
ReplyDeleteHi Richard Bock.
DeleteThere is a treasure trove of gems to be found in the crime jazz genre. It always excites me when I listen to it. I am delighted you are getting enjoyment from these.
Cheers.
