  1. What impresses me about this and other Beatles tribute sets is how strong those songs are. You can do just about anything to them from barking dogs to slide whistles, and the melodies are still clear and catchy. The only other collection of songs like that I can think of are the songs from "Hair" (of which I have no less than 30 versions of between tributes and various countries' productions).

    1. Hi JWDen.
The Beatles wrote beautiful pop music. The strength of The Beatles' songwriting is so incredible, no matter how the songs are interpreted, their melodies always shine through. The comparison to Hair is an interesting one; both have that timeless quality that allows for endless reinvention. with 30 versions of "Hair", do you have a favourite? It would make a lovely My Compilations post.
      Cheers.

    2. I'm partial to the original cast recording of "Hair" just because I grew up with it, but I also like the jazz interpretations from Stan Kenton and the Mort Garson electronic one. But what a terrific idea for a comp! I'll haul out that folder and see if I can't work something up. Thanks!

I only have three albums so this will be wonderful, I am sure. Thanks.
