It’s a term every music fan has read, heard or used over and over again. I actually love the term Beatlesque to describe the flavour of bands that have tuned into the Beatle vibe and created songs that resemble a Beatles sound, redolent of the catchy, upbeat melodies, close vocal harmonies, or tight, guitar-led arrangements that could be found on any Beatles album.
Whilst many of these bands who make Beatlesque music may not have voices that sound like John, Paul, George and/or Ringo, their song structure, their way around melody and harmony show us the influence and impact the Beatles had on their song writing. Love for the Fab Four is completely warranted and it is safe to say every pop band that has come after The Beatles were influenced by them in some way.
There are many Beatle sounding albums and compilations paying homage to the Beatles, so I have tried to pick from my collection (a mixture of 60's, 70's, 80's, 90's and 2000's) songs that I haven’t seen on other compilations (mostly). Each of these artists exhibit the Beatles style with their own individual flair, exploring music the way The Beatles did a few generations ago.
