Country music has developed a clear reputation for having some of the saddest songs of any genre. If it weren't for sad songs, country music may not be the same. From losing a lover, a friend, a mother, or a beloved family pet, there’s something on this list that has grabbed us all emotionally. Through these songs we relive memories of heartache or death, with emotions we can all relate to whether sweet and bitter.
