Based on the Theme, this is a very hilarious boxset of three CD's that tells more about RADIO BBC than the records. Some of these recordings are so harmless that you will have to read the comments about Why these were banned. I have records that would have been indeed more suitable to fit into this category. I will say it is "easy listening" and not very obscure or vulgar. It you know how the "language" was back then and translate all these "not nice" recordings - such as "Work with me Annie" you may find some obscene. I could name at least 3 Top 10 50's rock songs that is more "vulgar" than these included: "Shake, Rattle and Roll" - "Tutti Frutti" (that doesn't mean ice-cream...) "Long Tall Sally" (one of the first transsexual songs).  The clever part about this set is the theme: Banned by the BBC. There is a very interesting book included with the set that includes a description of why each record was banned, including some quotes from BBC memos. It is a fascinating look into the bureaucratic workings of the government body that controlled British broadcasting for so long.  (Amazon)
