Their shared passion for music and dedication to preserving the sounds of the era led to the creation of this remarkable series.

The anthology is split into two distinct sets. The first set, released in 1997, encompasses volumes 1-8 and captures the eclectic mix of studio sessions and live performances that graced the San Francisco Ballrooms from 1966 to 1970. The second set, extends the journey with volumes 9-16, offering more hidden gems from the same period.

The music in this series is a time capsule, sourced from vintage reels and the archives of radio stations that have since ceased operations. The second set, in particular, prides itself on featuring no commercially bootlegged material, with a few rare tracks sourced from acetates.

The series showcases a diverse range of artists who left their mark on the era, each contributing their unique sound and energy. From the psychedelic rock pioneers to the soulful blues bands, the collection is a testament to the rich tapestry of the San Francisco music scene.

The creators of this series have a simple wish: to share this music with everyone and inspire others to do the same.
