GRATEFUL DEAD

Grateful Dead - 30 Trips Around the Sun, The Definitive Live Story [2015] (4 x CD's)

30 Trips Around the Sun, The Definitive Live Story 1965-1995 is a four-CD live album by the rock band the Grateful Dead. It contains 30 songs recorded in concert, one from each of the years 1966 through 1995, plus one song recorded in a 1965 studio session. All of the tracks are selected from the 80 CD box set 30 Trips Around the Sun, which contains 30 previously unreleased complete shows. The album was released on September 18, 2015.

Speaking about the selection of concerts for the box set from which the Definitive Live Story tracks were excerpted, producer and tape archivist David Lemieux said, "Our first criterion was the very best live music to represent any given year in the band's history. We wanted to make sure that there were not only the tent-pole shows that fans have been demanding for decades but also ones that are slightly more under the radar, but equally excellent."  (Wikipedia)

    1. Hi Doomcan,
Thanks for popping in and leaving a comment. I also have the expanded box but thought that 4 CD's was a sufficient trip this time around. I really like the Road Trips series and will probably post these at some stage.

      Cheers.

    2. I really dig the Road Trips series as well. Some I don't have in 320 so I will keep my eye peeled for your posts. I've really enjoyed your work since you first appeared at the Twilight Zone. You do a fantastic job. A titanic tip-o-the-hat for all that you have shared here and at TZ.

      Thanks again, BB!

    4. Hey BB,

I checked my Road Trips series and the only one I don't have in 320 is the 2011 Road Trips Bonus Disc (Cleveland 12-06-1973). It was the Grateful Dead Download Series that I don't have in 320. Any help you can provide on these would be most appreciated.

      Thanks, man!

    5. Hi Doomcam,
Please help out, which Volume of Road Trips is that. I have the Denver 1973 series, but cannot see the Cleaveland 73 set. If you expand the details I will get back to you.
If you have a link from Discogs would be helpful.

    6. Hey BB,
If you scroll down on the page you sent me you will see the bonus disc that came with the Denver '73 set. I was unaware that Discogs didn't give dates for each of the RT bonus discs. I use this site frequently for official GD release info:

      http://www.deaddisc.com/index.html

A wonderful resource if you haven't already been there.

Here's the link to the disc I mentioned:

      http://www.deaddisc.com/disc/Road_Trips_2011_Bonus_Disc.htm

If you don't have the RT Bonus Discs or want anything GD, let me know. I might have it.

      Thanks, man!
