  1. Thanks for this collection, Butter, and the work you've put into making great selections from a particularly deep and diverse catalog. After just about forty years - a number I can't believe - we still miss him, and his being taken from us is still more than we can wrap our heads and hearts around. This set, or something warmly parallel, would be worth posting again on October 9. RIP, Johnny.

    1. Hi Aging Child.
As i was listening to this compilation when compiling it, i was also saddened by the fact that he is no longer with us and by the circumstances of his death. I will re-post it again in October, maybe with an added volume.

I remember the day he died and I wept. A Paper boy was holding the headlines up as I was driving past in my car. It was a cold miserable day. I don't know what happened other than a true impact and reflection of what he meant to me growing up and the fact that he had been taken away from us at the time.

I really enjoy listening to his deeper cuts.

      Cheers

    2. George's "All Those Years Ago" and Bernie's "Empty Garden" put it better than I or almost anyone else could. We miss him; and his words and music are our lifelong consolation. Thanks again, Butter.

    1. Hi djmcblues2,
I had a friend at school who sang that song all the time. He even started to emulate John Lennon. He is in my memory because of that song. He always emphasized the lyric "They hurt you at home and they hit you at school. They hate you if you're clever and they despise a fool" John Lennon had a way with words that is very appealing.

Hope you enjoy the selected tracks.

      Cheers.
