  1. Thank you for another nicely-themed compilation, Butter! As always, I like your excellent mix of the welcome-and-familiar, with the unknown-and-intriguing.

There was no room for Enuff Z' Nuff's "Fly High, Michelle" (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aWTD7Y24oY8) of course - not a complaint; our upward yearning has created plenty of high-flying recordings that could fill even more disks.

One of a number of whole albums that could serve as companion to this collection is Alan Parsons's "On Air": https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/On_Air_(Alan_Parsons_album). And he revisits the theme of the ultimate flight - into space - in this year's "One-Note Symphony": https://vimeo.com/346488263.

    Thanks again for the uplift!

    1. Hi Aging Child,

      Your comments are always uplifting.

Thank you for reminding me of Enuff Z' Nuff. I don't have any albums and frankly do not know them well, but I do have a few singles. They have a great power-pop sound. This is a good track that you directed me too. Thank you for opening my ears.
There is definitely more tracks for the flying compilation theme.... for the future

      Cheers

    2. That Enuff Z' Nuff single is the only recording of theirs I'm really familiar with... mostly because Daughter One's middle name is Michelle, and I used to sing it to her (poorly) when she was really young. It would also go nicely on a long list of groups/recordings that are notably Beatlesque - another theme you've already compiled well.

Where a collection's particularly good and done well, of course even more songs will come to mind, since a warm and vibrant pulse has been touched. But the spotlight belongs to the many more ideas and that themes haven't had their own compilation.

So isn't it exciting, not knowing what's coming next? It means there'll be some fine surprises around the corner... nice!

    3. The Enuff Z' Nuff track is very Burlesque. I like it.

Keep an eye out and your ears pealed as this track may replace another in the existing Flying compilation ;) Enough said...
      Cheers

    4. BEATLESQUE not Burlesque.

Goodness gracious me. To much Champagne & Chicken today.

    5. LOL - possibly more champagne than chicken, methinks. ;-)

A merry Christmas week to you and your family!

    1. Thanks lemonflag,
You have a very keen eye. I love you thoroughness.
I would like to say it just my sense of humor (Level 42 posted at CD4 and CD2) But, I won't and I have will own up to just posing it twice inadvertently. Good song though. Maybe I will replace one with the Enuff Z' Nuff track mentioned by Aging Child. :)

      Cheers.

I save all my dl's as tracks only, so when I take off the numbers in front I sometimes get the msg that I have a duplicate track. That's how it came up. I am not that smart.
But let me say again your comps are amazing and I can't believe the effort you put into this blog. Thank you so much and I hope you have a wonderful Christmas break and i look forward to your surprises next year.

  3. Brilliant as usual. I was all set to be upset, but then I saw it: Blue's "Wish I Could Fly", as beautiful a rock song as any in existence, and woefully under-heard. You've probably done a comp with beautiful rock songs already, but it could go there along with "Waterloo Sunset", "Here, There and Everywhere" "8:05" (by the Moby Grape) and pick-your-favorite Beach Boys song--"You Still Believe in Me" is a gorgeous example. I realize that beauty is in the ear of the beholder, but it's something to consider. Happy Whatever You're Having Butterboy, and keep on compin'!

    1. Hi Ice X,
Glad i didn't disappoint you. I nearly called to comp "Wish I Could Fly" but changed it at the last moment. I really like your thoughts on the most beautiful songs compilation idea. Beauty is indeed in the ear of the beholder, however you have chose some wonderfully beautiful songs here in your comments. I would definitely include them.

I will celebrate happy Family day during this season of hope.

Best wishes to you and yours whatever you choose to do . Stay safe and enjoy life.

      Cheers

    1. Hi Wondermouse,
Thank you and further thanks for the links to the KCFM Putney shows. I love the slogan "Hear song you know...some you don't". That is my philosophy when putting my compilations together. I will be troweling your links with pure interest. Some great ideas to be found.

      Cheers.
