Over three decades, the band has cultivated a loyal cult following while releasing an impressive run of 15 albums between 1991 and 2020. Albums like The Big Wet Twang (1991), Ride the Wild Twang (1994), and Surf Fever 2000 (2001) helped define their early sound, bright, tightly arranged tracks echoing the DNA of Dick Dale, The Ventures, and The Shadows, yet spiked with humor and attitude that’s unmistakably NYC. Later records like Mysto Incognito (2013), Vintage Surf (2016), and Made in Japan (2020) showcase a wider sonic palette, veering into exotica, lounge, tiki noir, and spaghetti surf with gleeful abandon.
Their music is distinctly narrative, songs feel like lost soundtrack cues to imaginary B-films. Whether channeling space-age bachelor pad vibes or desert-standoff duels, The Supertones sculpt every riff with swagger and style.
