Steve Miller Opens His Massive Vault For The First Time To Share His Treasures Welcome to the Vault is a Career Spanning 3 CD + DVD Collection containing 52 audio tracks and 21 performances on DVD With 38 previously unreleased recordings, including 5 compositions that have never been heard before, and featuring alternate versions of classic songs, live performances and more, all housed in a 100 page hard bound book of Steve’s personal photos, with a 7,000 word essay by David Fricke. The DVD contains 21 live performances including rare footage from the 1967 Monterey Pop Festival, Don Kirshner’s Rock Concert in 1973, ABC In Concert 1974, a 1970 concert from the Fillmore West filmed for Dutch TV, Pine Knob Michigan in 1982, Steve and Les Paul at Fat Tuesdays (1990) and Austin City Limits in 2011. Plus, the deluxe set includes 10 Guitar picks with Steve’s Pegasus logo, and an authentic backstage pass from the Steve Miller vault.

The audio CDs are the meat and potatoes here! The first disc is 75 minutes, 2nd is 65 minutes while the 3rd is also 75 minutes long! Steve Miller can play the blues no matter if it is a studio cut or a live version! It all sounds great! The alternate versions are almost better than the real ones! The DVD is also awesome, but I wish it was a Blu-ray instead, but we can't have everything now...can we? The book and guitar picks and other stuff is all just filler here but glad to have it! The book is built sturdy so it should last a long while! It gives us some insight about the man...Steve Miller and how he recorded. (Amazon)

Jethro Tull - 25th Anniversary Box Set [1993] (4 x CD's)

This four CD boxed set is one of my favorite boxed sets. And it's unfortunate that this has been out of print for quite some time. CD1 "Remixed Classic Songs" is simply a sort of a "best of" collection of common Tull tracks, however, they have been tinkered with in the remix process to purposely present these tracks with a "new audio landscape". CD2 "Recorded live at Carnegie Hall, NYC 1970" has since been re-released in a slightly expanded form on the 2 CD deluxe edition of "Stand Up", although both releases contain elements making each unique to each other. The Carnegie Hall show is a standout performance from their early days. "My God" is breathtaking (literally, as Ian Anderson demonstrates during the show). CD3 "The Beacons' Bottom Tapes". These songs were recorded specially for this boxed set, in a studio. Brand spankin' new (at the time) studio versions of "Aqualung", "My God", "Living In The Past", "With You There To Help Me", "Bouree", about 10 minutes of "Thick As A Brick", an instrumental version of "Cheerio" and an instrumental version of "The Whistler". All in all, a nicely assembled collection that should appeal to the seasoned Jethro Tull fanatic as well as a newbie checking out Tull for the first (or second) time. CD4 compiles several interesting live performances from various tours over the years. You get thrill-packed live versions of "Kissing Willie", "Budapest", "Still Loving You Tonight", "Seal Driver", a medley that slaps "Wind Up", "Locomotive Breath" and "Land Of Hope And Glory" together, and quite a few more.

There are plenty of Tull's more familiar songs and plenty of the more obscure songs to keep everyone happy. The package design is the icing on this cake. It mimics a cigar box, and when you open it the first thing you see is the booklet, which depicts a full row of "Jethro Tull Brand" cigars! The booklet itself is fun and informative. In fact, the booklet is why I couldn't settle for just having this boxed set. There's nothing like having the official release with all the bells and whistles. Every track here is a gem. (Amazon)

Joseph Roger Brown, MBE (born born in Swarby, Lincolnshire,13 May 1941) is an English musician. As a rock and roll singer and guitarist, he has performed for more than six decades. He was a stage and television performer in the late 1950s and has primarily been a recording star since the early 1960s. He has made six films, presented specialist radio series for BBC Radio 2, appeared on the West End stage alongside Dame Anna Neagle and has written an autobiography. In recent years he has again concentrated on recording and performing music, playing two tours of around 100 shows every year and releasing an album almost every year. Described by the Guinness Book of British Hit Singles & Albums as a "chirpy Cockney" (although he was born in Lincolnshire), Brown was one of the original artists managed by the early rock impresario and manager Larry Parnes. He is highly regarded in the music business as a "musician's musician" who "commands respect and admiration from a wide spectrum of artists"

In 1969 Brown married Victoria Mary Haseman, a singer with both the Vernons Girls and the Breakaways, who then became known as Vicki Brown. Latterly a session singer, she died of cancer in 1991. Their daughter, Sam Brown, is also a singer, and their son, Pete Brown, is a record producer, who produced all but one of Brown's nine most recent albums, and also tours with him. In 2000, Joe Brown married Manon Pearcey, former partner of the former Small Faces singer Steve Marriott. (Wikipedia)

Joe Brown is a hugely important, significant musician in the UK, having worked at the very top of the musical world for over sixty years, gaining countless plaudits and in general being viewed very much a musician’s musician. As a youngster, Brown worked alongside the likes of Gene Vincent and Eddie Cochrane, Johnny Cash, Dion, the Beatles and Del Shannon, successfully forging a place for himself in a newly exploding rock’n’roll world. Already a chart-topping hit artist by 1962, Brown set the bar for many who followed. Joe Brown was an exuberant personality, one of the more distinctive figures to emerge on the British pop scene in the late 1950s and early 1960s. What was also apparent early on that he was a talented and supremely able guitar player. In the pre-Beatles era he enjoyed big hits with numbers such as “A Picture of You”, “It Only Took a Minute” and “That’s What Love Will Do.” And when many of the existing solo stars disappeared under the beat boom deluge he continued to be a major presence, appearing in stage shows, films and concerts. In the 70s he emerged with a new band, Brown’s Home Brew which included his late wife, Vicki, a former top session singer, and bass player Joe Fagin. In later years he continued to record, including a 1998 album recorded in Nashville.

It’s the music which will attract most people, from his earliest recording, the Doc Pomus-Mort Shuman song “People Gotta Talk” through his recordings with Brown’s Home Brew to more recent material. A talented ukelele player as well as a guitarist, there’s also his poignant rendition of the standard “I’ll See You In My Dreams”, the song he played at fellow ukelele enthusiast George Harrison’s memorial concert. As Mark Knopfler says in the accompanying book: “A multi-instrumentalist and always one of the best guitar players around, he is the genuine article, a bona fide British rocker and born entertainer.”

This is Joe Browns first ever box set, which celebrates his prolific 60-year career playing music. It contains six albums of music drawn from across his entire career from the very beginning, through the folk/rock combo Browns Home Brew, right up to the present day. He truly deserved his recent Mojo Lifetime Achievement award (as well as his MBE) and this box set shows exactly why Joe Brown has survived and prospered across the decades. This lavish and superbly presented limited edition box set contains six CDs of all his major tracks, including many previously unissued ones, as well as a DVD of his performances. Included in this box is the new single ‘All I Want For Christmas Is Peace’, which is a new recording exclusive to the box set, 15 ultra rare Brown’s Home Brew tracks for the first time on CD (Brown’s Home Brew was a band formed by Joe Brown and his family in the 1970s, which recorded songs in their home studio), 15 previously unreleased demos, rehearsal tapes, and live outtakes, such as ‘When You Love Somebody’, ‘It’ll Be Me’, ‘Hey Porter’, and ‘Egypt Land’.

Four Nashville demos recorded in 1991 with legendary producer Cowboy Jack Clement, such as ‘Darktown Strutters Ball’ and ‘The Switch’. and Live versions of some of Joe Brown’s classic songs, such as ‘I’ll See You In My Dreams’, ‘A Picture Of You’, ‘I’m Not In Love’, and ‘Pinball Wizard’.

Now, after a near-lifetime recording and touring, Brown has released a truly remarkable six-disc compilation celebration set that outlines his history, experience and personal musical legacy. The box set is a must-have for any fan of Joe Brown or British music history. It showcases the versatility, talent, and longevity of one of the most beloved performers in the UK. (B)

Depeche Mode are an English electronic music band formed in Basildon in 1980. Originally formed by the lineup of Dave Gahan, Martin Gore, Andy Fletcher and Vince Clarke. The band have released a total of 15 studio albums, 10 compilation albums, six live albums, eight box sets, 13 video albums, 71 music videos, and 54 singles. They have sold over 100 million records and played live to more than 30 million fans worldwide.

Depeche Mode were called "the most popular electronic band the world has ever known" by Q Magazine, "one of the greatest British pop groups of all time" by The Sunday Telegraph, and "the quintessential eighties techno-pop band" by Rolling Stone and AllMusic. They were ranked No. 2 on Electronic Music Realm's list of The 100 Greatest Artists of Electronic Music.

In later years, the band adopted a new, increasingly dark and tormented style, which, together with Dave Gahan's stage look, had a strong influence on the emerging genre of gothic rock as well as the subculture that eventually formed around the genre.

There has never been a true CD representation of the complete Depeche Mode singles collection compiled in chronological order all in one place.

This, my own personal compilation features every official Depeche Mode single release spread across a 3CD set. All the correct 7" single mixes and edits are included using the best sounding and latest digital remasters released to date, with a considerable number of tracks sourced from the original master tapes for superior sound quality and enjoyment.

As a very special bonus I have added a 4-track EP of the latest Depeche Mode singles all released in 2023 from their album Memento Mori following the original 81>18 compilation, bringing it right up to date.

Here is my expanded edition of NOW That's What I Call Halloween which was originally and officially released as a streaming only option by NOW Music in 2018.

As per the norm with recent NOW compilations there were a number of tracks which weren't the original versions, plus a few tracks were not the greatest in sound quality, and not the latest remasters. I have corrected these errors and added the 100% original releases. There are so many tracks which are recommended on online lists and reviews of great songs for a Halloween party but were not included in the original 60 track collection.

Following extensive research, I have now added another 53 bonus tracks taking the entire collection up to a scary 113 tracks! All 113 tracks are now the very best sounding, highest quality latest digital remasters released to date. I don't think you'll find a better compiled collection of Halloween themed songs anywhere, with something for everybody.
