MESSAGE: Sharing Zone Suspension Notice

Sharing Zone Suspension Notice

To all Butterboy visitors, friends, and long‑time supporters:

The Sharing Zone has always been a place built on trust, generosity, and respect, a corner of this blog where people could exchange music, memories, and good energy. Recently, I posted a message indicating that the Sharing Zone was undergoing a test. That message was genuine at the time.

Unfortunately, ongoing poor behaviour from a disruptive individual has made it impossible to maintain the safe and welcoming environment that this community deserves. Despite repeated efforts to manage the situation, the behaviour continued, and I will not allow it to affect the experience of the many respectful visitors who make this place what it is.

For that reason, the Sharing Zone is now suspended. This is not a permanent closure, but a necessary pause while I work on a solution that prevents the same issues from happening again. The goal is simple: If and when the Sharing Zone returns, it will be stable, protected, and enjoyable for everyone who uses it in the right spirit.

Thank you for your understanding, your patience, and your continued support of the Butterboy blog. The music and the community remain strong, and the Sharing Zone will return once it can do so safely.

Cheers.

BB

 Hi All,

Thank you for all your messages, your support, and you're understanding. The Sharing Zone has always worked because of the people who visit, generous, patient, and willing to help each other. Seeing so many of you respond with kindness and encouragement means a great deal.

I know the suspension is disappointing, and I share that feeling. The Zone was built for sharing, not for disruption, and your reactions show exactly why the community around this blog is strong. Loyal followers, long‑time friends, and new visitors alike have reminded me why the space matters.

This pause may be temporary. It’s simply a chance to reset things so the Zone can return in a clearer, safer, and more enjoyable way for everyone, if pssible. Your support makes that easier, and I’m grateful for it.

Cheers,

BB

  1. Thank you for everything that you do! It's unfortunate that some people have to ruin everything, but the rest of us love everything about this place and will happily support whatever decisions need to be made. Thanks again!

    1. I've been very busy and distracted by real world commitments, so haven't been as active over here. Unfortunately, did not even get a chance to explore the Sharing Zone. But definitely curious about the disruption. Are we talking super personal boundaries challenged rudeness? Too demanding/controlling? Alas - some people just want to watch the world burn.....

  3. Some folks just get their jollies sucking the joyful experiences down to their level of ignorance. Thank you for your efforts in this matter.

  4. Hi BB
in the short time the live chat was running I managed to get more than 100 treasures !!!! - all thanks to your generosity and that of all the other participants,
I hope the problem can be solved and that the site is back soon, but either way, i just wanted to Thank You for the bright shining star you gifted us

  5. For what it's worth, I had a high old time! I was even able to fill a few requests! Some I had, and some I had to go out and find among my collector friends. When you love music, the best is being there, and the next best is sharing your collection with others who love it. Until the a-hole, I didn't mind the rough & tumble nature of the site. Reminded me of the old days. We even had our share of pure leeches and greedy Guses! Took me right back!

  6. I hadn't had the chance to fully appreciate the site so far, but had high hopes for it, as did everyone else. It's a shame that one moron off their meds (who's also been trying it on elsewhere over recent days) has brought about this (hopefully temporary) hiatus. My thanks to you and all the contributors. To paraphrase Francis Bacon, i wish champagne for you and real pain for him.

  7. Wow. Some people have to ruin it for everyone else. Hopefully, you can think of a solution and get it up and running again.

  9. Surely there may be a way of whitelisting/blacklisting people from it? Have a nice day BB

  10. I fully understand. I found it very interesting and picked up a couple of useful sets. I was pleased to share a couple of collections that I thought may be a little niche but in fact had a much wider interest than I expected. I hope you can find a way to have it return. I can only echo Spidey's words - when you love music, the best is being there, and the next best is sharing your collection with others who love it. In the meantime we'll still be here.

    Gracias. Saludos.

  17. What a shame grrr. I guess the only solution would be content moderation but you do so much already that per-approving posts would be too much. Thank you for trying this. Sorry about the dickhead.

  28. HI BB, first of all, I have been a fan of this blog for some time now and love it! Have been able to find a lot of great stuff. I do hope the Sharing Zone will be back, better than ever, and there won't be some a-hole to ruin it again, especially if the blog is well protected. I hope the Sharing Zone will come back soon, maybe as a subscription or verification of those who want to join the Sharing Zone.

    1. Hi Cor van Spaendonck!
      Writing clearly and crisply:
I firmly believe that sharing goes beyond satisfying the selfish and personal desire of a single person and it is sad that everything ends in a single upload-discharge.
The more people who are blessed with a gift, the better.
In my case, I offer without asking for anything in return and if I can, I will accommodate the request of just one, but in truth, I only see it as a way to restrict and limit the POWER of sharing.
Offer and let whoever wants take, that's what it's all about and the more times, the better.
      ♪♫ Regards, Cheers & Respect, Michel. 🖖😎

  31. It's always so incredibly frustrating when someone can't behave like a normal person and has to destroy what others have built.

I wish you all the best.

  33. People like that are simply miserable themselves and hate to see others succeed where they've failed. They are best ignored until they tire themselves out and have to go lie down and go find someone easier to punch around. I love your work and hope this works out in your favor before it works out in ours.
