The four-CD box set Gary Crowley's Punk & New Wave Vol. 2, released in May 2023 by Demon Records, follows the immense popularity of its predecessor and continues to celebrate the groundbreaking punk and new wave movements of the late 1970s and early 1980s. “Alongside my rhythm pal Jim Lahat, we’ve once again pillaged our respective music collections to bring you a highly personal and extremely eclectic selection of gems, mined from the rich seam that was the late ‘70s/early ‘80s,” Crowley remarked, setting the tone for this ambitious project.

This 77-track collection vividly captures a transformative period in music history, when a surge of bands and artists brought renewed energy to the UK's musical landscape. Iconic names like The Clash, Ramones, The Jam, The Cure, and The Slits headline the compilation, embodying the rebellious spirit of the era. Yet, the collection also shines a light on lesser-known bands, like The Limit, Gary Valentine, The Wardens, Basement 5, and The Limps—artists who may have left behind only one unforgettable single but whose contributions are priceless. Many of these tracks are incredibly rare and nearly impossible to find outside this magnificent compilation.

“For both Jim and I, punk infused our souls and turned our lives upside down. For us, Punk was always about the spirit, looking ahead, with a sense of experimentation. That’s what we loved, and hopefully this speedy and lively mix reflects that,” Crowley shared, emphasizing the ethos behind the curation.
