Dear friends,
Over the next few months, I’ll be easing back on the blog workload to make space for other activities that need my attention. This doesn’t mean the music stops, it just means the pace will be a little gentler.
I want to sincerely thank you for your loyalty, encouragement, and ongoing support. The community here has always been the heartbeat of this project, and your enthusiasm keeps it alive.
You can still look forward to the regular features that many of you enjoy:
- K Presentations
- Lucky Dips
- Jazz Sunday
- My Compilations series
- Guest Presentations
- Reuploads
- A new Butterboy Compilation each week
And if I’m up to it, I’ll add in other extra sets as I see fit.
This blog has always been about sharing the joy of discovery, and I’m grateful to continue doing that, just at a slower rhythm for a while. Thank you for being part of this journey and for keeping the love of music alive with me.
Cheers.
BB

You can certainly use a break! Everyday I check your site and wonder how you can possibly keep up with this. I don't think you've taken a break since your Antarctic trip.
ReplyDeleteThanks for all the sounds - you provide the soundtrack to nearly every day...
Cheers,
Mike M
You certainly deserve a bit of a break. We are all grateful for those wonderful discoveries we have had from you. Long may you continue and remember 70 is the new 45 (or was it 33)!
Time off is always lovely - rest up, BB!
ReplyDeleteSounds like a good idea & thanks for all the music.
ReplyDeleteComme les précédents commentaires auxquels je m'inscrits, merci pour la musique et bon repos
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your well deserved break! I was late to this blog, but it's now one my favorites :)
ReplyDeleteThanks for the flood of music. Enjoy some peace and quiet.
ReplyDeleteThank you for your work. I really appreciate all this fine music.
ReplyDeleteSalut, and many thanks for all your efforts!
ReplyDeleteStepping on the brake sometimes is necessary and keep the car going BB!
ReplyDeleteI've often been amazed at your pace. Just the features that you plan to continue would be more than enough for mere mortals so a weekly new feature is generous. Thanks for all you do, it's much appreciated!
ReplyDeleteYou've certainly earned it Butterboy - there's still so much to explore on this site - so thanks very much.
ReplyDeleteYou've been at this for a long time. I know how this works. Even though you are doing this blog out of kindness and wanting to make people happy , you put pressure on yourself to get projects finished and out to your followers. Sometimes it feels like a compulsion. I hope you slow down and put things out when you have the time. I hope you enjoy your other activities as much as we have enjoyed your generosity. As everyone said above me, we really appreciate everything.
ReplyDeleteMerry Christmas and New Year take it steady
ReplyDeleteGood on you, BB. You've gotta look after yourself...first & foremost.
ReplyDeleteTake it easy, you know you have a massive group of followers that have the utmost respect for you.
Take care mate, and thank you for the musical treats time & time again!
Be happy!
ReplyDeleteAt your age you could probably do with a rest!
ReplyDeleteAll the very best to you and yours at this Christmas time and many thanks, as always, for all the music.
Slow down.
ReplyDeleteBaby, now you're moving way too fast.
Dear Butterboy, take your time to attend your other activities, we are already very grateful for what you do. To be honest with you, I personally was not always able to follow the pace! So maybe with the new frequency I will be able to follow closer! Thanks and enjoy the Christmas period!
ReplyDeleteMuchas gracias por todo lo que compartes y Feliz Navidad
ReplyDeletethanks for the trip so far, Butterboy, take your rest, take your time and when the time comes, come back strong!
ReplyDeleteThank you for the music. (Abba) You have made me so very happy (Blodd Sweat & Tears).
ReplyDeleteI understand how much time and effort it takes to put out this many posts, answer comments, do reposts, find extra materials, do the write ups on the artist and career, find pictures, find, test and upload all tracks, publish them. The list of items you plan to continue as is (even on rocksteady weekdays), is already impressive (and maybe too much, the old Count said concerned, holding his oldfashioned pipe....). Think of Yin-Yang BB, it is important to take your rest between play. Space you leave between notes is almost as important as the notes you DO play. Light a candle at two sides gives you more light, but for a shorter period. Maybe there are ways we, loving followers, can help or assist you ? For now, enjoy your Christmas and have a Feliz Navidad and a prospero año 2026 !
One thing we all CAN do out of appreciation, is go back to older postings (see the blog archive on the right, if you want to jump to a subject instead of steadily crawling back over everthing with the 'older post' bottom in right hand corner).
ReplyDeleteAnd check those posts, download them (be easy and thoughtful on the requests to BB for reuploads !) and comment before, during or after listening. This way BB will see how much we like /love / are interested in different kinds of music and styles of compilations (like mixtape, chronological, 'everything ever recorded', super best of, on one subject (coffee, cars, girls' first names). There is already SO MUCH music here on this side that we can enjoy. I am not sure how our commenting will work out on the 'popular posts' rating (also on the right hand side). And remember the albumtitle: '5.000.000 Elvis fans can't be wrong', these posts are popular for a REASON. So maybe you 'should' check them out as well. Love to all, all is love, love is all you need.
Hi BB,
ReplyDeletefirst, thanks so much for all the joy you have given us through the years, by sharing your excellent music;
second, I don't know how many of us were able to keep up with that your generous and gigantic amount of music ! So, with all the 'homework' assignments we need to complete, your slowing down will not have an effect on your kind mission to share this art. Enjoy all other activities and rest assured that our gratitude to your kindness is as strong as ever.
Cheers
Giulio
I've been here since the start, thanks for everything that you do, Merry Christmas
ReplyDeleteMore than 4000 posts always alive !!! Sure , you can make a little break and take time for you !
ReplyDeleteThanks BB! Relaxayvoo!!!
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your Time BB, thanks heaps.
ReplyDeleteGood luck 'n' stay safe!
ReplyDeleteYou choose your own pace, your own personal, appropriate rhythm. We all remain deeply grateful for everything that has been at this place and everything that is yet to come. With respect and affection, TC
ReplyDeleteI'm retired now, but like an excited five year old, my first stop of the day is here. Thanks for what you do here, seasonal greetings.
ReplyDeleteThanks for all your hard work and experience BB. hope you are well. Have a great Xmas and 2026!! Luv and best PD
ReplyDeleteYour blog has been such a joy in such a crazy world. Thanks for sharing such priceless gems. It is very much appreciated by all.
ReplyDeleteThanks for everything BB -
ReplyDeleteHi BB I have always wondered how you managed to post so much and quite so quickly and whilst it may take some time to adjust to any slow down, we all appear to totally agree that you must do what you need and we support you 100%. Thanks for everything you have made available to us and not only the selections from others sources but the staggering amount of Butterboy compilations you yourself had made for us. It is SO appreciated
ReplyDeleteMany thanks for all you do. Enjoy your time away.
ReplyDeleteHi BB - you have expanded my musical palette incredibly; magicked into existence rarities from favourites and sent me on pathways I would never have followed otherwise. The HitchHiker's Guide to the Musicverse, perhaps. Enjoy your slower time. A fantastic Christmas to you and to those you love, and a very Happy, Healthy, Prosperous New Year.
ReplyDeletemerci pour tout ce travail et cette musique. vous avez raison de penser un peu à vous.
ReplyDeleteMany thanks for all you post, best wishes & happy Christmas enjoy the rest
ReplyDeleteAs I clicked on your link I was thinking what surprise has BB got for me today. Well, that was a surprise and I am so happy for you. Time to smell the roses and not make the "donuts".
ReplyDeleteLOVE your blog, and am grateful for many many musical discoveries that you have provided. THANKS!!
ReplyDeleteSo much thanks to you.
ReplyDeleteMany thanks for all the work you've put into this great site / resource. Best wishes for the future.
ReplyDeleteMany thanks, BB for you post in this labour of love. Enjoy your time. Cheers.
ReplyDeleteMuchas gracias por todo... es increíble lo que haces.
ReplyDeleteThanks for all your shares .... regardless of the speed
ReplyDeleteAll I can say is, sad for us, but it's about time! How you've been able to keep doing it, day after day, is beyond me. A TON of work! And it's been such a joy to daily hop over to see what new goodies you've come up with! The plus to this is that finally we'll have time to re-listen to some of all that great stuff! The Internet can seem like a lonely place, but if you ever wonder if we'll be here waiting if you find the the time to turn your attention back here, never doubt it! Still, even if that never comes to pass, the ride has been fantastic. Thanks so much.
ReplyDeleteMuchas Gracias por la ingente cantidad de música con lo que nos haces disfrutar. Siempre a tu disposición Peace, Love & Music Forever.
ReplyDeleteMuchas gracias por toda la música que nos das. Feliz Navidad

ReplyDeleteThat's a perfectly normal reaction on your part, BB. I'm even surprised you produce so much good stuff in such a short time! Enjoy your time and your family and friends; that's what life is all about. I'll add that I'm so behind on listening to your previous submissions that this will finally give me some time to listen to your compilations. A win-win situation!
ReplyDeleteTake it easy (or at least easier). I did wonder how you managed to post so much so regularly for so long. Thank you for all of the enjoyment you continue to provide.
ReplyDeleteWishing you all the best, we'll surely keep the love of music alive. Take care.
ReplyDeleteSlowing down is a very winter thing to do. If you take it easier, that will give us the chance to listen to a lot of the archives we have been stuffing our computers with. Me myself, i'm moving into a new appartment and maybe a new job soon. In the mountains with a fire place. Best choice for relaxingly listen to all that music. Have a great slow tempo time BB.
ReplyDeletetotally agree!!!

Now that's what I call a well-deserved break ! Thanks for your amazing work, your great taste in music and the good vibes you share with us !
ReplyDeleteIt's a sad fact that real life has priority, you owe none of us anything. Thanx for anything you provide.
ReplyDeleteHi BB, just read your announcement. After your 70th birthday I was wondering "BB doesn't really slow down, doesn't he?" Et voilà... A bit of a relief to read you are diverting your time also to other needs. I wish you they are of a positive nature and you can enjoy some quality time for yourself (and others if so). The amount and consistent quality of your posts is staggering and often goes beyond the music itself. For me your posts with added social values (don't they all?) like "The Revolution That Wouldn't Be Televised" (not the exact title, but you know which one I mean) are priceless. I appreciate also your comments, which reflect a certain savoir-faire and are a joy to read. Always thoughtful, respectful and civilized. To put it short, thank you very much BB, and I'll be looking forward to your posts as always. Take care, grtz.
ReplyDeleteThanks BB, I'm very grateful for your ongoing generosity and wish you and your family the very best for the holiday season and beyond into 2026.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your break! Yours is one of the 3 music blogs I check regularly. Thanks for all the great stuff you post.
