The other week I did a compilation based on MTV, drawing a lot from their Unplugged shows. That reminded me of VH1's Storyteller series, which ran from 1996-2015. I had audios of a few and was able to find many more. Although both shows featured performances before small audiences, there was a slight difference in remit. Where Unplugged often (but not always) featured acoustic arrangements of songs, the emphasis in Storytellers was on artists talking about what lead to them performing particular songs. The Storyteller concept was developed by Ray Davies, who performed on the first episode. It was also the title track of his first solo album, which he toured for several after The Kinks disbanded, although is not featured in his Storytellers set. Several artists did sets for both Unplugged and Storytellers, while some did just one or the other. For this comp I picked out artists not featured on the MTV comp that I put together.

Last Year I finished the "JAZZ!... The Way I Like It" series, which explored the various sub-genres of Jazz, mentioned on www.jazzmusicarchives.com. I coved all of the Early Jazz section & the Modern Jazz section as well. But there was a third section: Jazz Related. This is were it gets tricky. Because some of the sub-genres
listed were either stand alone sub-genres like Latin Rock/Soul, Funk and just recently posted Dub/Ska/Reggae, and a couple of them - Acid Jazz, Exotica and Third Stream - SHOULD be included with the Modern Jazz section IMO. That leaves six sub-genres that are actually Jazz Related. I'm not going to cover Jazz Education (not easy to come by and I don't think it's that interesting for causal listening) but the remaining 5 are going to be explored, starting with Jazz Related Rock.

Only Various Artists compilations will be accepted.
Only one compilation per week from each contributor with a limit of 25 tracks per track list per submission. (Total 25 tracks only). You can submit a new track list the following week.
The Topic is your choice, Genre is your choice and any music is acceptable. (If readers don't like the topic or choices then they don't have to pick them up)
When presenting your submission, the Topic of your compilation should be Noted as well as the sound quality of the compilation. (i.e., 320Kbps MP3, Flac, etc).
Whilst most would prefer MP3's @ 320 kbps all I request is a good sound quality.
A track list must be supplied together with a LINK for your Compilation. (Please do not send the compressed file)
Artwork is not necessary but would be welcomed. All submissions need to arrive via email to:

Entries must be received by Midnight, Wednesday. (Wherever you are in the world.)
Once received, your entries will be checked for content matching the track lists provided. If an entry is considered unsafe or different to the track list provided it will be deleted. If your submissions are outside the guidelines they will not be included (No questions asked and no reply)
