In the words of Don Letts AKA The Rebel Dread: “Looking back, I see it as a turning point, a cultural crossroads when different genres collided, giving birth to something entirely new. It was a celebration of diversity and a rejection of homogeneity. Its impact has rippled through the years, influencing subsequent generations of musicians and shaping the landscape of alternative music. The fusion of punk and reggae became a blueprint for bands seeking to break free from the constraints of genre. As DJ at The Roxy (the UK's first live punk rock venue) I was lucky enough to see these ideas blossom to become what we now call the 'punky reggae party' and forty-five years later its message is still in full effect.”

Compiled using the very latest and highest quality digital remasters, with a considerable number of tracks sourced from the original master tapes for superior sound quality and enjoyment.

This official 3CD set contains many rare and extremely hard to find tracks, with a number featured in their original album, 12" and 7" single mixes. A few tracks included here have never previously been released on CD, so this compilation is a true first in many ways.

PLEASE NOTE: These 3 discs are the official Cherry Red CD release and ripped from my own personal original box set.

Enjoy!

  2. Thank you very much, K. It's nice to see that Cherry Red didn't limit each artist to just one track like they usually do with their collections. But 'Uptown Top Ranking' yet again? Argh.
