Well this caught me by surprise! It seemed I missed November and now this! Was November tucked behind some large file? Anyhow happy to get 2 months at once.
ReplyDeleteI have always felt that in my day the dj's picked what they liked and for some it worked well ie John Peel. But I spend my time looking for 60s music that they and I missed. Your series here hits that on the head. We all have the big stuff, but it's the others that fell thru the gaps that I seek. Thanks as always for the great job you and K do in keeping us/me happy. Onwards and upwards.
Thanks, lemonflag.
DeleteI know you have a deep appreciation for the hidden gems of the '60s! It's true that DJs like John Peel had a knack for uncovering those lesser-known tracks that still resonate with listeners today. I'm glad to hear that this series is hitting the mark for you and bringing some of those overlooked tunes to light.
It's always a pleasure to share these musical treasures and keep the spirit of discovery alive.
PS I will put all the 1968 posts in a single file for those who miss out any of them.
Cheers.
Another display of the variety available at the time - Oh and thank you for what you've posted this last week that I'm just catching up on.
ReplyDeleteHi Dr Robert.
DeleteIt sounds like you’ve been enjoying a musical journey through time. The variety of tracksreally does showcase the eclectic mix of music that was popular back then. There’s always something for everyone.
And you’re very welcome! It’s always a pleasure to share these musical treasures.
Cheers
Thanks BB!
ReplyDeleteThis music is from 56 years ago... I wonder which artists today will last 56 years.
Cheers
Giulio
Hi Giulio.
DeleteThat is a point worth contemplating!
It's fascinating to think about which contemporary artists will stand the test of time. Just as the likes of Fleetwood Mac, Bee Gees, and Johnny Cash have endured, I wonder if artists like Adele, Taylor Swift, or Kendrick Lamar will be celebrated decades from now. Music has a way of capturing the essence of its era while also transcending it. Unfortunately, I won't be around in 56 years' time to see who stood the test of time.
Cheers.
Keith Richards.
DeleteGood point BB; and probably it is even more difficult contemplating what type of music will be created/played in 56 years...
ReplyDeleteCheers
Giulio
PS "Unfortunately, I won't be around in 56 years' time to see who stood the test of time."
hehehe me neither!!!
Me neither, but one of my grandaughters, (24) thinks this music is fantastic, and prefers this era to anything else she likes. Good taste always shows. 😀
DeleteMany thanks BB, as they say, "'twas a good year".
ReplyDeleteMy pleasure, hedspace.
DeleteCheers.
Thanks a lot
ReplyDeleteMy pleasure, Nick.
DeleteCheers.
