22 Foo Fighters - My Poor Brain

23 Paul Engemann - Brain Power

33 Parliament - Presence of a Brain

Four years ago, I made part one of this Brain connection and I am finally getting to part two. I had the bulk of these already waiting (well, let's be honest, if you have Hawkwind, PTV and Flaming Lips that could already be considered the "bulk" of it, but I had more than that). I added two songs and I was done. You won't guess which ones I added at the last moment, so I'll just tell you it was Green Day and Shays. So here you go, more washing and stuff on your scattered brain!

ROIOs or Recordings of Indeterminate Origin is a phrase coined by (I think) Pink Floyd fans to describe unofficial live recordings or, more simply bootlegs. Some bands positively encourage their fans to record shows and trade them freely with other fans, some bands have a laissez-faire attitude whilst a few actively discourage it. The tracks on this compilation were all recorded by myself over the last 15 years. Don't expect hi-fi quality but they are all perfectly good recordings. I only wish I'd had access to technology like this in the 1970s when I saw bands like Led Zeppelin, Black Sabbath, Deep Purple and Pink Floyd all playing in Liverpool. For those interested in such things, all recordings were made on a Zoom H2 recorder.

I'm very much enjoying PattiRules' compilations, particularly the use of rarer Patti Smith tracks such as the b-side Wild Leaves, or Payyi's cover of Don't Smoke In Bed. As means of a thank you, I've compiled Patti's Jukebox. There's a compilation of that name online, where someone had imagined the tracks that Patti Smith might enjoy. These are mostly the original versions of tracks that Patti Smith has covered and officially released. Not quite complete - no room for the originals of Wicked Messenger or Pale Blue Eyes. The version of Perfect Day is not the one from Lou Reed's album Transformer, but the BBC charity version, released in 1997. I won't list all the artists as there's loads of them! Details here https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Perfect_Day_(Lou_Reed_song)#BBC_corporate_film_and_charity_release

Superman is a reference point of pop culture — for more than eight decades his silhouette and the letter "S"

have remained a shared language through which we understand one another across generations. This is the first part of a three-part compilation of songs that touch, in various ways, on the imaginary world created in the mid-1930s by writer Jerry Siegel and artist Joe Shuster.

They say superheroes grow in popularity during times of global crisis and recession.

Now is the right time for the Man of Steel.
