ReplyDeleteGracias.

Hi Mirta,
DeleteThanks for sharing this slice of memory. 13-16 is such a vivid age for musical discovery. The Grass Roots had that warm, melodic pull that made you feel like anything was possible, while the Stones added a jolt of swagger and edge. No wonder you were torn.
I am delighted the Lucky Dips shine a light.
Cheers.

ReplyDeleteHi pujwa.
DeleteI am always delighted when these sets are appreciated. Thanks again.

BB... addressing your above response and comment...
ReplyDeleteI would confidently wager these weekly Dips are silently,
but deeply, appreciated by the majority of your followers!
I know I am certainly thankful, if it's enough just to say that.
As far as The Grassroots go... that band is most certainly a
footnote in music compared to the likes of The Rolling Stones,
but our enjoyment of a good tune is not tied to a group's fame.
Like most bands, they really had their fair share of "filler" tunes,
but them hits.. Boy oh Boy! What catchy little numbers they were!
The fact they were early horn adopters.. well, ya know I love that!!
Thanks again and again and again for ALL THE LUCKY DIPS !!!!!!!
Hi mrRadio.
DeleteYour words mean a lot. it’s always encouraging to hear that the Lucky Dips are quietly making their mark. There are hundreds/thousands of downloads in each Lucky Dips, few comments but I still feel they are popular.
I agree completely, fame doesn’t define the joy a song can bring. The Grass Roots hits do have an undeniable charm especially with the early use of horns which added a great layer of character. Thanks for sharing your appreciation so generously. It is appreciated.
Cheers.
