INDIAN RESERVATION BLUES

VA - Indian Reservation Blues and More [2009] (3 X CD's)

Absolutely fascinating look into the American Indians' response to their history and their lives now, trapped and still abused. Some of it is a bit to far out for my European ear but much of it is good music and really quite challenging. If you are interested in World music then this is for you.

This "Modern Indian Reservation Bluesand more ..." offers a unique and initiatory journey through what makes American Indian music today. From Canada to deep America, all the territories are covered here. Never before has a work of such scope been offered, the market being solely geared towards traditional Indian music and songs.  Finally, what is remarkable and which must be underlined is that if Native American music evokes in the minds of many the image of feathered Indians who play flute and drums, the truth is very different. Now is the time to discover the rebellious Indians of hip-hop, the recent generations of "native americans" imbued with blues, rock and country music, and finally understand the significant (and little-known) influence of Native American music. on American roots music.  So there is still something to discover musically from the United States? ! 1. Hi BB, thanks, look forward to the listen -
Only familiar with John Trudell, who I took my son
to see in San Francisco in '94.
His early work had Jesse Ed Davis playing with him.
Hope all is well in your part of the World = Cheers

Will post both Lunar Drive files ASAP - like anything Diné, trust me; it’ll be worth the wait... Appreciate ALL your First Nations posts. Wopila Maya, KoLah
