VA - Dick Bartley Presents Collector's Essentials On The Radio Vol.01 - Vol. 06 [1997-2000] + VA - Dick Bartley Presents Collector's Essentials, The '60s+ '70s [1996] (8 x CDs)

Dick Bartley (born July 26, 1951) is an American radio disc jockey. Bartley got his start at age 17 playing "Bad Moon Rising"[ on radio station WWOD in Lynchburg, Virginia.  He has hosted several popular syndicated radio shows of the oldies/classic hits genre, including Dick Bartley's Classic Hits and Rock & Roll's Greatest Hits, both syndicated through United Stations Radio Networks. From 1982 to 2017, he was host of a national Saturday night call-in request show — the original version of Rock & Roll's Greatest Hits from 1991 to 2017 - that aired live (until 2009, after which the program was pre-recorded); that program, along with the Classic Countdown, were combined into the new Classic Hits show. In February 2020, a new version of Rock & Roll's Greatest Hits, focused on 1960s music, was launched. The last airings of both of the syndicated shows occurred during the weekend of January 1-2, 2022. Bartley has licensed his name for the "Dick Bartley Presents Collector's Essentials on the Radio" album series; compilations of radio favorites by specific era and genre. Bartley's programs use historic data from the Billboard Hot 100 and other charts. (Wikipedia)

The “Dick Bartley Presents Collector’s Essentials On The Radio” series is an awesome collection, which includes Volumes 01 to 06 and was released between 1997 and 2000. Our guide on this journey is none other than Dick Bartley, a superstar radio DJ who knows his tunes. He’s the one who handpicked every song in each volume, making sure to capture the wide range of music styles that were popular during that time.

Picture this - it’s 1997, and the music world is buzzing with change. Digital technology is starting to shake things up, changing how we make, share, and listen to music. Amidst all this, the Dick Bartley Presents Collector’s Essentials On The Radio series comes along, offering a chance to relive the golden oldies while also discovering fresh new beats. What’s really neat about this series is that each volume is its own unique gem, but together, they tell a bigger story. They trace how music has evolved over the years, reflecting the spirit of the times and the social and cultural shifts happening around us.

Each song is presented in its original stereo single version, so you get to hear the music just as it was meant to be heard. It’s this kind of attention to detail that makes this series a must-have for any serious music collector.  This series has done a fantastic job of keeping the legacy of many artists alive, ensuring their tunes continue to be enjoyed by music fans of all ages.

This series is again a celebration of music’s power and timeless appeal. It reminds us of our rich musical heritage and the role music plays in our lives. Listening to this series isn’t just about enjoying great music - it’s about taking a trip down memory lane, experiencing the rhythms and melodies that have shaped our shared history. This series is for everyone who loves music

As a special bonus I have added “Dick Bartley Presents Collector’s Essentials, The '60s+ '70s” released in 1996, which is a nostalgic trip back to two of the most influential decades in music history. This collection encapsulates the spirit of the '60s and '70s and serves as a reminder of our rich musical heritage and the role music plays in our lives. Both collections are curated by Dick Bartley and is a testament to his deep understanding and appreciation of music. These are musical narratives that transport listeners back in time, offering a unique and immersive listening experience. (B)
