Please use this template for future MY COMPILATION submissions, if you want them to be posted.

Only Various Artists compilations will be accepted.
Only one compilation per week from each contributor with a limit of 25 tracks per track list per submission. (Total 25 tracks only). You can submit a new track list the following week.
The Topic is your choice, Genre is your choice and any music is acceptable. (If readers don't like the topic or choices then they don't have to pick them up)
When presenting your submission, the Topic of your compilation should be Noted as well as the sound quality of the compilation. (ie 320Kbps MP3, Flac, etc).
Whilst most would prefer MP3's @ 320 kbps all I request is a good sound quality.
A track list must be supplied together with a LINK for your Compilation. (please do not send the compressed file)
Artwork is not necessary but would be welcomed.All submissions need to arrive via email to:

Entries must be received by Midnight ,Wednesday. (Wherever you are in the world.)
Once received, your entries will be checked for content matching the track lists provided. If an entry is considered unsafe or different to the track list provided it will be deleted. If your submissions are outside the guidelines they will not be include (No questions asked and no reply)

ReplyDeleteLook, I've got the source material - a collection a few thousand albums deep. And I've made at least a thousand mixes in my day, but they're all the old-fashioned kind - either on a cassette or a cd-r, and then I physically hand it to whomever and say "here ya go."
I'm dying to contribute to this section, BB, but I'm completely lost when it comes to creating a link rather than, say, sending the compressed file. (Though I understand why a compressed file is right out.) Jeez, the worst of it is if I were 20 years younger - and all things virtual and digital came second nature to me - this obviously wouldn't be an issue.
But let's say I collate the tracks, ensure the audio quality is uniform (and high-quality) and write up the track menu. What then? How do I create this link and how do I send this in to you?
I will totally understand if you roll your eyes and decide you don't have time to waste on tutorials for doddering old graybeards. But any help you might offer will be greatly appreciated!

DeleteThere are no rolling eyes from me. I had many questions when I fist started posting as well. made a number of mistakes too. In the end I was get the basics right.
It is great to hear you want to contribute to the compilations segment and I look forward to seeing and hearing your comps in the future.
Here is what you need to do.
I see that you have no problem creating the files/track list so I'll skip that.
To create a link you need to connect with a file host . I use Krakenfiles as my choice host there are many out there. Here is a link to Krakenfiles - https://krakenfiles.com/
Once you are in you will need to sign up/ register, no cost/payment needed. It is a free file hosting program. You can take the option to be a premium member if you want but that will attract a fee.
Click on the sign up icon in the top right hand corner (see Pic 1), then fill in the details required. Its that simple. Once you registered you will be able to upload files and create a link to share.
To create a link you will need to place your files into a compressed folder. The compressed folder is added to the Krakenfiles page (see pic 2) by clicking on the upload here icon in the top right of the page. Add your file and press the start upload file button . Once completed you will receive a link. That is the one you can share. Copy the link and paste it when you do share.
