A series of compilation CDs from radio station 94.5 KDGE in Dallas/Ft Worth featuring Texas bands is called "Tales From The Edge" was created by George Gimarc, a pioneer of alternative rock radio in Dallas-Fort Worth. The series consists of 11 volumes, released between 1990 and 1996, each containing exclusive live in-studio recordings of local bands from Dallas, Austin and Denton. The CDs were sold at a low price of $2.94 and showcased the diversity and creativity of the Texas music scene. 

The "Tales From The Edge" series. It was a project that aimed to promote and support the local music scene in Texas, especially the alternative rock genre that was emerging in the early 1990s1. The series was also a way for the radio station 94.5 KDGE to showcase its unique programming and identity, as it was one of the few stations in the country that played alternative rock at the time. The series was well-received by both the listeners and the critics, and it helped launch the careers of some of the bands that participated in it.

The Tales From The Edge series is a valuable and nostalgic collection of music that captures the spirit and diversity of the Texas alternative rock scene in the 1990s.
