The catchphrase of this compilation "Everybody's Talkin About The Good Ol 'Days".  Soul lovers can go there with eyes closed. All the titles on this cake are pearls, no exceptions. Let’s start with Syl Johnson's “Could I Be Fallin' in Love”, violin, guitar, hearts, hammond, throbbing bass and an incredible voice a nugget. The "Ain't No Sunshine" version of Lyn Collins is superb. Bob James and his "Nautilus" takes you on an extraordinary magical 5-minute journey, this instrumental is haunting on the border of jazz and soul, impossible to come out unscathed as the atmosphere is heavy.   The version of "The Way We Were" by Gladys Knight & the Pips which is simply at the top emotion level, the lyrics can be addressed to everyone and Gladys' voice speaks for itself. Every song gives you a comforting warm feeling. A snare, a drum, a sequence ... everything is known and new at the same time. You literally wait for the beat  from great soul songs. (Amazon)

The purpose of the compiler was to collect the original tracks which had been sampled by the Wu Tang Clan. As it turned out this brilliant idea offers so much. This is  an exceptional compilation series, one of the most beautiful that there is, quite simply.

    Thank you for this Soul collection, Butter. I'm going to pass it along to a colleague's mother, who was impressed and delighted with an earlier Soul compilation you recently shared here. It looks like there's virtually no overlap between them... and I'd say the collection's got to be worth the full listen just for Gladys's live, sweet, touching take on "The Way We Were", which I've loved since first catching it in airplay in mid-1970s.

      I still have the original albums (90's) but these were easier to upload. I listened through them all yesterday and I didn't hear a dud track, A simply wonderful collection. I hope you colleague's mother will find them enriching.

    First of all, thank you so much for the opportunity of this music.
    I used the pixeldrain link to DL all.
    It included Shaolin Soul Episode o4 (Original) in addition to the sets Episode 04.
    Its all in the same vein but I just cannot correlate it to any known album.
    What is it actually?

      The original Episodes 1 & 2 from I believe 2005 follow the same tracklist as the reissues.

      But Episode 3 (original) from I believe 2007 is like Episode 4 (original), a completely different set of tracks.

      So basically, a bunch of Hip-Hop samplers from New York who became famous, produced a number of albums together and as solo producers/artists, with various albums out on vinyl originally, which were re-released in the mid 2010's, but since the originals (mid-2k's) may not have been very good quality, they changed the tracks just to people wouldn't know what's going on (ROFL).

      I hope that's helped answer your question and left you even more confused :)
