60's ROCK & POP

VA - Those Were The Days... 60's Greatest Rock & Pop (A Butterboy Compilation) (4 x CD's)

The sixties offers one of the richest times in the history of Pop and Rock music. It was a time of creativity and innovation and many new styles of popular music developed. So many wonderful and memorable songs, as well as songs we have forgotten and are often surprised by when we hear them again.

If I have listened to these each of these tracks a hundred times I would gladly listen to them hundreds of times more. I never tire of these songs. Of course these are not the only tracks of the 60's but they are the ones that I like. There are many more songs that provide joy and memories when I listen to them, but, these 100 tracks get to me every time. Each of these tracks resonate with me in some personal way. I think its attributed to the song existing at a time in my life when my little world was evolving...

This is not a track list of the best songs of the 60's (although some may well be) nor is it a list of songs that represents the whole of the 60's. These are essentially songs that I call my greatest Rock and Pop songs. Those songs that made my ear prick up the first time I heard them. Ahh... those were the days.

I hope you will enjoy the selections chosen for this first volume.

Cheers

The sights, sounds, smells that each song brings back. Equating the song to what you were doing when you were hearing it. And then, MTV. I remember hearing that song for the first time sitting on the couch watching the boob tube. Video really did kill the radio star. Sad.
