VA - Anti War Songs (A Butterboy Compilation) CD1+CD2+CD3

An anti-war movement (also antiwar) is a social movement, usually in opposition to a particular nation's decision to start or carry on an armed conflict, unconditional of a maybe-existing just cause. The term anti-war can also refer to pacifism, which is the opposition to all use of military force during conflicts, or to anti-war books, paintings, and other works of art. Many activists distinguish between anti-war movements and peace movements. Anti-war activists work through protest and other grassroots means to attempt to pressure a government (or governments) to put an end to a particular war or conflict or to prevent it in advance. Some musicians have taken the call for peace seriously and penned so strong and reflective songs that all take us to a place of questioning what is right.

Some anti-war songs lament aspects of wars, while others satirize war. Most promote peace in some form, while others sing out against specific armed conflicts. Still others depict the physical and psychological destruction that warfare causes to soldiers, innocent civilians, and humanity as a whole. Many of these songs are considered protest songs, and some have been embraced by war-weary people, various peace movements, and peace activists.

Here are 66 such tracks...

    1. Hi djmcblues2.
Maybe it's the cynic in me but these songs would have been relevant 1000's of years ago and will still be 1000's years in the future.

  5. Thanks BB
I remember once hearing that peace should not just be the gap between wars.

    1. Hi lemonflag.
Unfortunately, we all have a different version of peace.
I hate the saying "We fight for peace", when all we do is fight for Control.
      Cheers.
