The Dunedin sound was a musical and cultural movement in Dunedin, Otago, New Zealand, in the early 1980s.  It helped found indie rock as a genre. The scene is associated with Flying Nun Records, an independent label. Bands associated with the Dunedin sound include the Chills, the Clean, the Verlaines, the Bats, Toy Love, Tall Dwarfs, Straitjacket Fits, Look Blue Go Purple, the 3Ds, the Dead C, Snapper, and Sneaky Feelings, among many others (Wikipedia).

A good portion of the instrumental music that I listen to comes from varying soundtracks for movies, TV, and occasionally, video games. My selections definitely tend to lean towards high energy. This might be due to listening while on long distance bicycle rides.

For the last couple of decades, I've also been expanding into other genres. As always, it blows my mind how much music exists in our world. My library currently stands at 385,227 songs, which is massive, but also, is still a small drop in the bucket when scaled with all that is recorded.

I sometimes wonder - Is music finite, or will different sounds and instruments continue to be invented as time moves on? Something to think about, while listening to a collection that is bookended with the intro and outro of classic Doctor Who.

Only Various Artists compilations will be accepted.

Only one compilation per week from each contributor with a limit of 25 tracks per track list per submission. (Total 25 tracks only). You can submit a new track list the following week.

The Topic is your choice, Genre is your choice and any music is acceptable. (If readers don't like the topic or choices then they don't have to pick them up)

 When presenting your submission, the Topic of your compilation should be Noted as well as the sound quality of the compilation. (i.e., 320Kbps MP3, Flac, etc).

Whilst most would prefer MP3's @ 320 kbps all I request is a good sound quality. 

A track list must be supplied together with a LINK for your Compilation.  (Please do not send the compressed file)

Artwork is not necessary but would be welcomed. All submissions need to arrive via email to:

Entries must be received by Midnight, Wednesday. (Wherever you are in the world.)

Once received, your entries will be checked for content matching the track lists provided. If an entry is considered unsafe or different to the track list provided it will be deleted. If your submissions are outside the guidelines they will not be included (No questions asked and no reply)
