“… it was clear that nobody was expecting anything like this. Many wouldn’t have heard any prog rock before, or had only heard the kind of prog that gave the genre a bad name. This was a performance to convert the skeptics.” Bob Leiser

    1. Hi doors97426,
I originally put a blurb about the Vertigo label with this post but deleted it at the last moment. I have many great memories collecting the Vertigo label records. I will post all that i have in the list of 0-100. I know some people will have some of these albums but some are still hard to find.

      Cheers.

    1. Hi Perter H.
The file has been downloaded over 150 times. And is working for me.
Some readers have had this problem previously . It appears to be an issue with the host (krakenfiles) and your computer. Here is a link that may be useful.

  11. The Vertigo label had some great acts - sometimes seeing the Vertigo logo would tip the balance on which LP I would buy if I was stuck for a choice. Looking forward to the rest of the 'series' and thank you for all the hard work you put in BB, very much appreciated.

    1. Hi JWDen,
No problems. I think files over 1GB cause and issue so I will split them into smaller sizes in future.
Hope all is going well for you.
I miss looking at the great items you used to post at TZ.
I just pop in now and then. Its a different place now for some reason, A lot of great albums still get shared though.

      Cheers.

  15. I collect the albums of the Vertigo label since the beginning in 1969. As such, I think I can without pretension certify that the only disc recorded by Ancient Grease, which should have appeared at Vertigo under the reference VO 05, never was and as a result it was released by Mercury. Obviously to be all the more sure of what I advance, I checked on many serious sites as Discogs, Vertigo Swirl, Wkipedia and so on. Cheers. Dominique (Reims - France)

    1. Hi vertigolove,
Thank you for bringing that to my attention, Dominique.
I used the Wikipedia list for reference for this series.
      https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vertigo_Records
But I agree with you it appears that it was only issued on Mercury Lable.
      Appreciated.
There are a number of albums I do not have on the vertigo label. If you can find a way to support the missing albums with a digital share along the way that would be very helpful. I am sure all would be happy.
      Cheers.

    2. Hi Butterboy
Your message well noted & I thank you very much for it.
For the pleasure, everyday I'm re-listening all the Vertigo albums you share .
Actually my ears are under the fir of Manfred Mann Chapter III VO 3.
Now I want to tell you about Colosseum's Valentyne Suite VO 1. This band is one of my favourites.
( For info, a new album "Live At Rockpalast 2003" is released, 2 CD).
Re Valentyne, the original version just contains the 1st five tracks. # 6 & 7 are bonus tracks released as below :
CD reissue & remastered by Sanctuary Midline SMBCD386, E.U., 2006 and
CD reissue & remastered by Wasabi Records WSBAC-0033, JPN, 2016.
I think that, to be correct, you have to cancel those tracks.
At last as you request I will try to help you "if (I) find a way to support the missing albums". But not for the moment 'cause I take holidays and will come back circa 10 october.
Cheers ... et vive le champagne !

    3. Hi vertigolove,
I have the original album but also the 2004 (July 20, Universal) reissue which CD one was used here. I used the 2004 set as my original album was not digitized. I agree that for the original album to be more accurately represented, tracks 6 & 7 should be removed accordingly.
Enjoy you holidays and I look forward to future messages from yourself.
      Cheers.
