      pretty close, as I turned 60 last September. And I very well
      could have been dancing to these tunes 60 years ago. After all,
      I would at the time have been a big boy of almost one!

  5. Not to disparage the whole "English Invasion" thing but listen to the variety of things being played back then. Crazy novelties, Great doo-wop as well as straight rock and roll. I was 12 then but remember the majority of these tunes. Thanks Butterboy!

    1. I chose 1961 for that very reason, hotrodmike. That and the fact that you will unlikely find too many compilations covering 1961. The music in these comps shows how the music was changing. It was still a bit of a confusing time.
