CRIME MOVIE SONGS

VA - Crime Movie Songs, 60 Songs From The Big Hollywood Blockbusters [2019] (3 x CD's)

The twentieth century saw an incredible growth in the popularity of both cinema and popular music as entertainment genres. It was probably inevitable that the two genres would eventually move closer together, and this collection charts many fine examples from the last few decades. We suggest you use this collection to pose yourself the question of how the music enhances the film. Whether streamed, on disc or, ideally, in a cinema, you can appreciate just how obscure fifties and sixties music can add humour, spikiness, or punch to the package. (Amazon)

The records for this eclectic compilation cover the period 1953 to 1969. The music comes from a very wide range of performers be they jazz or pop influenced they were used to create part of the atmosphere. The sound quality is excellent throughout.

    1. Sorry Stephen,
I used to have an album of Australian TV shows (soundtracks) that we used for trivia purposes about 30 years ago. Maybe even longer, how time flies when you're having fun.
      Cheers.
