BB'S LUCKY DIP # 35

BB'S LUCKY DIP # 35

Lucky Dip's will be a mystery gift to those who choose to pick them up.

Today's links:      New Wave 1

"There were a lot of things I listened to, but so-called pop music never killed me, you know, the type of stuff that always seems to make it on the radio. The whole radio thing seems so ... it's like they've accepted the whole "new wave" thing only because this kind of pop element came into it. In Europe they really love emotion, but here it's like, "let's stay away from it because we might cry or something"...Tom Verlaine

  2. At almost 75 years old, I am probably one of the oldest on this site, and I was of course socialised with completely different music (jazz, classical and easy listening) and in a way also felt the so-called NEW WAVE SOUND as a "second revolution" (the first was set in motion for me by Elvis Presley), a liberation from the all too melodic sounds in the charts. So thank you for this very valuable reminder of a truly versatile pop music genre.

    1. Hi WOODY,
Age is a just concept (if you account for how sore our bodies can get as we age).
I lived in the 60's and 70's and for a long time it was the only music for me, then I found music before the 60's, then the 80's and the nineties were spectacular in many ways. I hear a lot of people talk about the rubbish that is made today.. I don't buy that, there is some magic music being made today you just to hear it to often on the radio.

1977 was a great change in music the 80's followed and again some great music there. So now I am looking forward to new music in the 2020's. At the end of it all I will still love all music...

      Cheers.

  3. oooo

it's wonderful when music just falls into your lap. the second album from pt 1 is one that I bought on vinyl when it came out, but it was borrowed and never returned, then I got it on cd, also borrowed and never returned. Haven't heard it in years, so thanks for reconnecting me to the music, one of my favorites from that time! ........I haven't lent out music to anyone in years either, I eventually learned my lesson :)

    1. Hi Unknown,
Thanks for your story. It is great to find lost memories together with the music soundtrack. Adam was unique and great entertainment. Enjoy the memories. Oh and don't lend out records. I lost many this way. Says something about some friends...

      Cheers.
